In 562 AD there was a
"Red Dragon/Comet" that nearly wiped out all of the inhabitants of Scotland, England and Ireland. It came from the northern skies swooping very low and close overhead, blazing straight down the middle of the British Isles.
Then its "Head" split into three parts and said to became a
"Three Headed Dragon". One of its heads remained on it course for the Atlantic and one went over Ireland heading for Central America the other went eastward.
The Red Dragon/Comet spewed fire and brimstone resulting in the forest of the Isles becoming hellish apocalyptic infernos; killing man, woman and child and both predators and prey alike of the beast of the woods and birds of the skies. His vile gaseous mist he spit poisoned the water turning it from sweet to biter. The fires burned for eleven days and nights obliterating 80% of the forest of old. This so-called "legend/myth" can be found in the Arthurian Legends of King Arthur, and confirmed as Truth, an actual historical event, through modern academics.

Wikipedia: Halley's Comet . . . is usually very bright when it passes through the inner Solar System every seventy-six years, but during its 1986 apparition, its closest approach to Earth was almost the most distant possible. The comet became visible to the naked eye, but was unspectacular.

the character who you are thinking of anthony is eowyn, she is a shield maiden of rohan and the daughter of Éomund and Theodwyn, younger sister of Éomer and niece of King Théoden. After the War of the Ring, she marries Faramir and had one son with him, Elboron. in the second film she has a romance with aragorn, in the third she disguises herself as a man in order to take part in the war and does quite well for herself. it is a very interesting discussion, can all elements of irish mythology be explained in terms of astronomical phenomena? it seems like a stretch. i was also going to say, the swastika is a hindu symbol which appears to cover a range of different symbols. the solar cross is from nordic culture, typically depicted as a four armed cross surrounded by a circle, with symbolism of its own. both of these appear to bear some resemblance to brigid's four armed cross; whether there is an actual connection between them i would have to look into further.
