In this episode of MythFlix (#74), I will talk a little about my book 'Newgrange: Monument to Immortality', how and why I wrote it, and I will also read a section called 'The Test of Time'. Newgrange and its sister sites Knowth and Dowth were enormous monuments, built to last long into the future. What is their message for us?

Can’t help wondering what I’d be doing if not for mythflix! Thank you Antoin. Ireland has always been important to me even as a young girl. This journey into its myths and legends has been amazing! Slainte

In my search for knowledge I've come to consider that some of the builders of Newgrange were most probably Alchemists. Structures that point out the solstices and Equinox are as clocks and callendars. In Alchemy perfect exact timing is it's foundation. Monument to immortality indeed! This is quite possibly why they seemed to have known the nature and connection of the heavens above with the season's below.

Imagine having to cook a special meal, that takes 16 months, that you cannot walk away from. Staying in the same area for that long would require temples to live in and do the work in, while observing the times and celestial movements. A Temple would have been constructed as a clock and a calendar to assist the Alchemist in keeping perfect time. Sometimes the temple would contain a dark subteranian chamber for the first part of the Alchemical work that is done in the dark without the lights. That is where Nigredo takes place like the rotting matters in a forest floor that is buried underneath the top layers. Walk into a forest and lift up the top ground layer of debris and you will find this blackness of Nature's recycling process. To create new matter the old must first be destroyed and recycled (NATURALLY), by nature within a pyramid Firmament oven that is designed by a creator's hand. Think of winter solstice and the sun dying to be reborn again each year. This recycling is the meaning of the Ouroboros; Nature and man together, United in this harmonious process, can manifest the "Wonder Of Wonders" which is today known as "The Philosopher's Stones". Ask yourselves, What is carried in the rays of the light?
It is Something the Ancients knew very much about as I've come to find. It is The The "Ether" that can show to the below the way to Ether-nal life.
The Light is the Life of the world and that Life is the Light of Man.
