How do creative people come up with great ideas? Organizational psychologist Adam Grant studies "originals": thinkers who dream up new ideas and take action to put them into the world. In this talk, learn three unexpected habits of originals — including embracing failure. "The greatest originals are the ones who fail the most, because they're the ones who try the most," Grant says. "You need a lot of bad ideas in order to get a few good ones."

The TED Talks channel features the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). Look for talks on Technology, Entertainment and Design -- plus science, business, global issues, the arts and more. You're welcome to link to or embed these videos, forward them to others and share these ideas with people you know.

My dividend journey began when I realized that two particular expenses in my budget were always going to go up and never go down. The two expenses were taxes and insurance. I realized that the dramatic rise in both will need some added income. So, I started buying shares paying dividends. I can now see that this will be the path I need to take to make sure those two expenses will not overtake my future income.

I don't procrastinate... I wait until the last minute to do things because I will be older and therefore wiser.

reminds me of that scene in the office:
Jan: "how does watching a movie in the middle of the workday help the team"
Michael: "they work faster"
Jan: "...magically?"
Michael: "no they have to, to make up for the time they lost watching the movie"

A pro tip is to only do this on important projects or ideas you're working on, and stay diligent and tidy in everything else in your life - meaning be on time, keep a clean household, manage your finances. This way you free up mental space to work on idea generation without all the clutter of everyday life.

I had an art teacher who said, "You have 5, 000 bad works of art in you and you just have to do them and get them out of the way so the good ones start showing up."
