After 3 days of using both monitors I can say that they are both awesome. But which is better? I haven’t decided yet…

Samsung has nicer minimal design, remote controller, smart tv features, weak but built in speakers, and more settings.

But ASUS image is somehow more life like, more dramatic and natural + glossy panel which looks better during the day with deeper blacks and nicer colors.

I played with Samsung settings to make it look like ASUS, but still, with small differences, ASUS image wins to me. Which monitor to buy… still a question. I hope to know the answer in a week or two.

The most striking difference is at 0:17 where the object shininess is a lot more pronounced on the asus. Also visible with the teapot just after.

Going from a 27in 1440 to a 32in 4k oled has been an insane jump so far and I’ve been loving every minute of it.

Try using the sony fw900 crt monitor, the motion clarity, resolution and refresh rate is insane out of the box.

The better one is whatever you can find, as they are identical in all other instances.

When viewing in a dark room with lights off, do you notice a difference in shadow detail and black crush? I've seen reports that many of these OLED monitors crush blacks in HDR. You can find some HDR black clipping test patterns online to check. Ideally you want a monitor to show all the gray steps above 64 with these patterns.

Asus looks natural and better calibrated. Samsung color vibrancy is too much that it already look cartoonish. But design wise I lean towards Samsung, leaning towards simple aesthetics than gamery aesthetics. Been using Odyssey G7 QLED for 3 years now and looking for an upgrade.

IMHO, Samsung is a great buy, well that's the case here in PH, Asus is 320 USD more than Samsung.

Great Comparison tho! Keep it up!

Hi I have the old miniled G8, and want to upgrade to this OLED version. For my miniled one i maximum brighness is 50 percent, do you think this oled version can reach 50 percent of miniled one? They all say that the brightness of oled panel has been a problem, so i am kinda worried.

When looking at that first Cyberpunk comparision, the Asus does look more clear, and better to me. Of course I'm not saying the Samsung looks bad, but I think it's the image quality difference is noticeable side by side. I'd still pick the Samsung though, you actually have hardware calibration settings, you can access the service menu to disable things like ASBL, and you have a TV OS.

I looked on the OLED screen of my smartphone, it's better than my aging TN 4k 28" screen which needs to be replaced. The 2 seem very similar in these conditions.

the black looks perfect on both

0:27 at the beginning you can see clearer and more natural whites on the asus.
0:47here again the asus seems to have the headlight and neon more intense and with a more adjusted contrast
1:47 the Samsung seems to have a little less brightness, nicer for this scene, it must just come from the settings...

Normally I prefer mattes because I'm quite sensitive flatter and less shiny, and the reflections are less distracting. but I'm thinking of taking a cheap matte 21-24 inch ~150€ for simple things and a glossy one for enjoying media, video games, movies...

The matte is also more resistant for cleaning without micro scratches.

The Asus has complete and effective firmware while the Samsung is full of bloatware that I will not use, the PC is always on. And also asus a real clear guarantee for burn oled 3 years.

I will think about it

And otherwise cyberpunk 2077 looks incredible, I uninstalled it after 3 hours and refunded it upon release so long ago. I was advised to try again that it was good now

Thank you for sharing ! But why have these 2 screens?
