Miss the days when I use to plug in a radio and blast it, when the music stops that was the right breaker

You can run a space heater vacuum cleaner and haur dryer on the sane circuit 😂. It will find the breaker.

Make sure you get the accessory kit so you can do lights sockets and bare wire👍🏻

It's way more fun to walk back and forth 100 times, especially when the breaker panel is 200ft away!
Or sack it up and do it live👍

Be careful for false positive signals. Always verify with a voltage tester. Never depend on this 100%

for those of you that don't understand the purpose of this tool... yes you can plug in a radio or go back and forth or whatever is best for you. the purpose of this tool is if you have a circuit that can't be turned off. we were doing an assisted living center remodel and the area we were demolishing had circuits in the panel that other occupied rooms were in. this is a very helpful tool. especially if you're doing a side gig for someone and don't want to inconvenience them by flipping breakers in their house while looking for a kitchen plug

This thing is nice when the wiring has been done properly. Older homes or rat nest panels will throw this thing way out of whack.

As a diy homeowner, I just plug in a radio and use trial and error, turning off each breaker until the radio turns off.

Make note, you will get some weird results if you have an older home or older electrical. Such as; a breaker box as the first point of disconnect and if you don’t have grounds and neutrals separated properly, that thing goes crazy

I got one a few months ago it's very useful for work and around the house

When you get paid by the hour, you check all of them by hand and walk back and forth

Well made video.

I thought just a few more seconds where you show the indicator lights on the plug being off would have been perfect but that's just me.

Thanks for the quick class!

we just cut the wire and short it to find the breaker. the 9 panels down in the store are never labeled RTU convenience outlet.

I’ll just use my analog one. Plug it in, a little “blip”, and I go find the tripped breaker. It finds one’s that don’t trip too. Course, sometimes I gotta replace the wiring on those ones.

Sometimes the house too.

As a retired Telco tech! I always wondered if they made a toner for Electrical like that! That's awesome!👍 Im getting one?🥰

I bought this tool last month. I used it to find correct breakers for all the outlets, lights and switches. The previous owner remodeled the house and two breakers kept tripping at least once a week. I found 18 devices were on one circuit between 3 floors and the other had a home run to the water heater. I retired the basement and garage lights. The water heater had a bad heating element and a bad connection at the breaker. I fixed everything and no more problems with tripped breakers.

That's good for home owners. For Pro's Amprobe makes the best most reliable instrument for that, it’s also the most expensive but its accurate and it always works

This tool works about 50% of the time for me. You get what you pay for, this is ok for the times it is accurate.

Do these things exist for higher voltage applications? I do commercial appliance repair in kitchens and it's very common for the panels to not only be unmarked, but also very far away from the actual appliance. Hard to figure out which breaker is the electric oven in an old school. I guess I could go 208 to ground but I was hoping for something a little safer and more elegant

Bought one of those about 6 months ago. What a great tool. Worth every penny
