It's heartbreaking for both of them. The two closest people in the world that are hurting each other because of the pain they are trying to spare one another. Dr. Glassman is so relieved to leave Shaun's support in Lea's loving arms for comfort after he is gone.

Every time they said “he’s nauseous” it made me cringe. Being nauseous means you’re the cause of nausea. They would accurately say, “he’s nauseated”. Shaun would absolutely know the difference.
