My 15 year old son gets very angry when we stop him from gaming. If we go to bed he will stay up until 2:00 am. He seems to find friends that do the same and have no adult supervision.

Unfortunately, people who play video games don't know what are the side effects of doing this terrible habit on the long run. When parents let thier children play video games, they just destroying thier kid's future. When person gets bored or boredom in general is the healthy sign that urges us to start working, inventing, creating things, hanging out with friends, reading, learning, or even watching a movie and looking for girlfriend, by using dopamine that urges us to engage with the life.
Unfortunately, when gamers get bored, they start playing video games using all their boredom or dopamine in virtual reality instead of using it in thier real life without getting anything just wasting time and they reach the degree where they cannot live without doing this habit. All thier life will be gaming no friend, family, girlfriend, future.
By the way, I used to play video games since I was 12, but I decided to stop doing this terrible habit which helped me to stop other bad habits like smoking cigarettes, and now, I'm focusing on my career.

It’s not a disorder to indulge in your hobbies. I’ve never heard of board game disorder. I’ve never heard of woodworking disorder. So why is there a gaming disorder.

Meh, I outgrew video games almost a decade ago. It was fun playing them, but I don’t really care for them anymore.
