My friend Juan Bagnell and I have created a video where we compare the ROKID Max with the XREAL Air AR Glasses to determine the better option.

For the initial phase of this comparison, we will examine the ROKID Max and the Xreal Air Galases. In the subsequent part, Juan and I will delve into the brains behind these glasses - the Rokid Station and the Xreal Beam.

Great video and thank you both for the in-depth details on these. I have the Nreal (XREAL) Airs and tried the Rokid Max and will say as someone who has astigmatism the rokid max actually were a lot harder to use for me and really showed how personal AR glasses really should be since getting prescriptions for either can be done but is a charge you might not be aware of when looking into them. I've thankfully been able to use my Airs for hours on end with a RedMagic Gaming Dock Adapter to keep my device charged and still use the airs but took some digging and educating myself on what does the term like does this hub support Alt-DP as an example.

I would love to see more support for these glasses in terms of having those brains already built into them for 3DoF support by itself natively or even active shading of the glasses aspect so you can click a button to show what's around you and then press it again to be the full light blocker shades built into since I have at times wanted to fully just block out the front but it being part of the carry case to take on and off at times can get in the way especially when moving around like in an airport, train or bus scenario.

Can you add an update comparing the Xreal Air 2 Pro vs the Rokid Max?

The XREAL Air 2s with the Beam to allow freedom of movement without the screen following you around is pretty cool. I also don't mind the looks of them. Being near-sighted and always wearing glasses, I'm put off the XREALs due to the fact I'd have to spend more money for the prescription lens attachment. Nice that they include the option, but still. The diopters on the Rokid Max kind of win it for me between the two. If I can adjust the diopters to make it work for me, even if it requires a small adjustment each time, I'm there. It's the easiest, most user-friendly option between the two. I've seen some people say interpupillary distance (IPD) matters between the two glasses as well, but I have yet to hear anyone address this and, unfortunately, I can't go to a local store somewhere and try them to find out for myself. Really appreciate this in-depth review. If I get a pair of AR glasses, I'll likely go with the Rokid Max for the diopter adjustment.

...yeah a spreadsheet. That's definitely what I'll be using these for.

If you are nearsighted, as I am, you will need to make an appointment with a doctor and get a prescription for the XReals, it will cost you about $200 plus your time for that. My eyesight is -150 and -300, easisly covered by Rokid's -600 for each eye. The warm spot above the bridge of my nose is annoying, but only on the warmest of days/conditions. Also, not mentioned in this video, is the entire weight of the glasses (which are only slightly heavier than normal glasses) are all on those little tiny nose pads. They need to spread the weight over more nose space. I have my own fix for that, but it is not pretty.

The Xreal's also activate 120Hz with the push of a button. The Rokid might be slightly easier but it's still just pushing a button on the glasses. No 3rd party software needed.

the rokid station is a very useful accesoire and seems like a great solution for the phone problem, i got the chinese version (globla version on its way too) with bigger NES like buttons and was glad to find the language button for english and chinese.
Even 3D works on the rokid max, many devices telling about 3d features but it was the first time here to see its working on rokid max.
seems also more family friendly with dipter adjustment, so not everyone needs to order extra lenses for family friends enemies and so on.
the glasses become warmth on forehead which is less good, dont know if the nreal air does similar warmth production

Here is my simplified guide how to choose:

- You will use it while laying down: Rokid Max
- You will use it while moving: Xreal Air with Xreal Beam
- You have 70+ IPD: Xreal Air

Yes its really that simple
Rokid is a bit better for those who wants to use it while standing still in comfortable positions for relax because of its better specs. (unless you have 70+ IPD)
Xreal is a must if you plan to try to use in positions that will make you move your head, like playing more intense games that make you move your head or to use as secondary monitor, watch movies on a treadmill, walking with google maps or any task that will make you move your head. you will need xreal beam

Love, love, love it when two of the best and (for me anyways) most trusted reviewers in the tech space team up. These look like such interesting products. Heading over to Juan's channel to watch part two...

That anecdote about folding the glasses and putting them on the shirt sounds great.
If the glasses don't give you headaches while standing on a subway train it could be a great use case

It is interesting how deep each of you tested both devices in a short time and came basically to the same conclusion

Which has the best visual quality? FOV is more on the Rokin Max? Does this make watching movies better?

Tip for the next video: write a script for each person so that you don't have to interrupt each other all the time! The one on the left is particularly annoying.

Since Rokid is readily available in Canada and Xreal isn't it's an easy call for me.

The dude on the left is very energetic, but always cuts off the other guy. Very disrespectful. Talks way too much. I’ve seen in the other Beam vs Romie video too.

I am looking for Ar glasses that work with Pixle 7 phone and have a display that can be be less view filling and set to the side or higher or lower than normal line of sight. Using them for GPS and walking directions, language translation, making and recieving calls and texts. Beyond that anything else is a bonus.
