Watch This Before Buying The Rokid Max AR Glasses

OKAY, I had to do it. These Rokid Max AR glasses are amazing, but after the initial shock of "omg I have AR glasses" I noticed quite a few issues that I feel like all potential buyers should think about.

This is the only review that does not go into 500 kilos of bullshit and states things as they are. These are overrated, problematic, but still one of the best that we've got. That's fact. And kudos for saying things straight!

After watching this video I can really tell that other "reviews" are only modern ads tarned as real reviews. Worst case scenario for end consumers. Back in the day youtube reviews were so good because there were exactly NO ad, that was the whole point about it. Great video!

Totally agree. I have the same issues. These glasses are perfect for movie watching, but it really hurt my eyes when I'm coding because of the blurry edge issue.

This earned you a sub. Thanks for the honest review. I was so sick of clicking on "honest review" videos from YouTubers who are clearly just making a commercial for the product instead of an actual review. It is so disingenuous and really makes me not want to buy the product.

COD is the main reason I want these, so I can lay down and stretch out sometimes and play a bit. You're the first one to say anything about how it works with FPS type PVP games. I really appreciate it.

I can also add some things. My primary issue with Rokid is that they don't fully support Samsung Dex. I have Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra, both have the same issue with Rokid and that's the sound. It still plays through the phone speakers instead of the glasses and I can't find a fix. The other problem I have is the blurriness. It's not only the corners. If I adjust the glass to see the upper side of the screen, the goes blurry. And the opposite. If I adjust them to be able to see the bottom side, the upper side goes blurry. Another issue is Netflix. I have Xreal Air and the Netflix app goes full screen no problem. But no matter what I do, can't make the app to go on full screen on Rokid. When I purchased Rokid I thought I'm upgrading from Xreal. But now I totally regret that I didn't go for Xreal Air 2...

I wear glasses, so the diopter adjustment is what makes me consider these more than something like the XREAL Air 2s. The XREAL has the option to add prescription glasses, but that's another thing to order and pay for (about $60 I think). I like the ability to adjust the diopters on the Rokid to suit my vision instead of having to purchase a prescription glasses add-on with the XREAL. Shame about the blurry edges, though. I don't think the XREAL has that problem. Also, the XREAL Beam has a function that enables you to fix the visible display in space, so when you turn your head the screen doesn't follow you. I wonder if you could use the Rokid Max with the XREAL Beam to achieve the same thing? If so, it might be the perfect combo.

How do you connect to a Win10-Tower and Win10/XP-Notebook(s) as a monitor? I'm NOT a gamer - I'm just an elder that surfs/reads/views the web via Chrome & FF.

I would hope these glasses could reduce strain on old eyes letting us surf via Laze-boy.
