This confirms for me that the cheap stick-on tiles are cheap stick-on tiles. Several other videos show the same.

Apparently, several rig renovators have had the same issues with the tiles. Using additional spray adhesive while installing seems to do the trick. Tiles make walls look so classy.

Prime and paint the wall before installing peel and stick wallpaper and for the backsplash install muscle bound brand double side adhesive, since there's some weight to the tiles it will hold better. Getting ready to do my 5th wheel just been doing some research

You did an amazing job! My hubby and I are currently mid renovation. I appreciate the warning on the peel and stick tile, that’s our next project.

Use headliner glue on them but spray it on both the tile and wall let tac up for a few minutes and put them on works great or you can use contact cement works even better

We're about to put peel-and-stick tiles up in our camper, and we're going to lay down Simple Mat before installing the peel-and-stick tiles. We used Simple Mat on our glass kitchen tiles, and they haven't BUDGED one bit. We're pretty hopeful that the Simple Mat will hold the peel-and-stick tiles on. Fingers crossed!

A lot of the tile issues are related to the surface prep. They absolutely can’t be put over fresh paint, and depending on if the cleaner you use leaves a residue they can peel. I recommend not cleaning with anything more than plain dish soap and water before applying and rinsing thoroughly. Going on five years full time in high humidity/heat, and freezing temps with no peeling.

just a thought, try using contact cement for the tiles. be careful, because once you stick it there's no moving them.

I commented on your 2020 video about the peel and stick. We had damage from a leak. Removed the damaged luan and did a peel and stick... definitely need the extra adhesive. So frustrating I bet. Hope you were able to fix the problem ❤

What a great and thorough review. You guys really put a lot of hard work, heart and soul into your camper and it looks amazing. It's a bummer about the issues with the wall treatments, but you definitely went the right route. I think actual tiles would also come off in time due to the movement of the camper when you're traveling. Camper walls are generally thin to keep the weight down, but along with that I think you get a bit of flex or movement (again when traveling) so just going with the same treatments again and using an additional adhesive is probably the solution to the problem. Good luck in your adventures. Have a wonderful time.

Great review, hard to eat soap after so much work.... So the luan paneling in an RV has natural oils in it. Any glue that you try to stick to the old glue or strait wood will not work. need to remove that oil and glue or primer over it with some high dollar primer that is not affected by the oil. more bad news, the glues in the new vinyl panels are designed for latex paint not plastic. one must use a glue that will stick to vinyl wall paper or primer the wall first. There are not short cuts... learned all this the hard way like yourself... First cleaned vinyl wall paper with soap and water, then wiped down with paint thinner, then used carb cleaner to clean and soften the vinyl before I installed the self stick tiles behind our stove. So far 3 years later seems to be working. STILL had a lift on a couple of corners.

You have moisture inside the wall on the back wall. Reseal the seams on your roof.

We used command strips and they pulled the wallpaper out when we reached high temps in the summer.
