What a great story! I grew up doing pop-up camping. I got one for my family and kids and thinking of getting one, again in retirement. They are relatively simple, inexpensive and quick to set up. As this video shows you can remodel them for very little, especially if you can do the work. The kid was great and reminded me of all the things we loved.

i lived in my pop up for 11yrs now
in the arizona desert
boondocking is what i do....
and one day u will have no choice...but to boon dock.
tell your husband to invest into a duel fuel generator 12k watts
this will run everything and then some on propane
with a gasaline option aswell.
then get the echo flow delta max
for your solar and the panels
thats quiet .
then get the yamaha 2000 watt duel fuel to keep the solar gen charged when there is no sun.
ive had this setup for yrs and was able to live off grid permenatly.
power is the most important
the rest is easy.
