I helped my buddy reupholster his camper, and what we did with his fold out bed was we bought 1 inch strips of plastic folded the fabric over them and used self tapping screws to screw them into the metal frame.

I did my upholstery the same way but I went to harbor freight and got the fabric drop cloths....much cheaper and you can dye them if you want! Love your remodel, looks great

Am I he only one that thinks a drill style HOT GLUE GUN is just The renovation is freaking awesome. I plan on buying an RV and doing the same. Looks like I can definitely do it myself.

Just used the white grain filler as well for our oak kitchen cabinets. They have turned out awesome. I love this product and makes a huge difference.

Use white “plastidip” then clear it. It is liquid vinyl so it stretches and the clear helps protect it

I actually like the touch of the wood edges, breaks it up some and goes with the other wood aspects, (cutting boards and such) that are in there for decor

I remodeled our popup camping trailer this summer. It turned out really well, congrats on the success!

I bet using contact paper over the rubber edges would work perfectly. They are designed for countertops and are cheap, flexible, and able to cover the rubber.

I do renos a lot, my solution to the molding is stick on shelf paper. Comes in all colors and is flexible

Hey there a tip I use for my commissions is for the handles is if they’re metal, lightly sand them and then after every cost of paint (primer, paint, clear coat) bake them in like a old oven even like a small toaster oven. Bake them @200 deg F for around 30- hour. The baking creates a stronger bond and creates a durability similar to powder coating. :) I hope this helps

You did a pretty good job. Suggestion for the floor. Cut the carpet around everything, then put 1/4" Lunan plywood down, fill in all the joints with wood filler, after getting a smooth surface install the peel and stick flooring of your choice.

Why didn’t you paint or replace the gold hinges?

We have that exact light sconce and we decided to paint it black as well. Thanks for doing it first so I can see what it will look like. Turning it upside down had not occurred to me. Thanks for that great idea! 👍🏼

For the trim, honestly black tape. Like for automotive use, cover chrome trim on cars with it. It would be flexible, it's made for outside of a car I'm sure it would hold up for that. I say black because I think it would offset the counter top and cabinet sides well.

We were just told my son has been given a camper for graduation. It's almost as old as I am. I've been looking for inspiration so I can tackle this thing with confidence. I happened upon this video and it gave me hope.

By the way what you did to the cushions is upholstery, no sewing is required. Tattoos definitely belong in craft stores.

For the edging try a rubber spray. It’s flexible and you get Matt black 😊 I’m sure that will work. Your RV looks so good. Well done.

Hog rings is what they would normally use to secure the fabric instead of cable ties. The hog ring pliers and hog rings are pretty cheap. Might be a tool to add to your stash if you plan on doing a bunch more upholstery work. If its a one time deal the cable ties basically do the same thing as the rings though. Nice work!
