AM5 is so much better in 2024! I strongly recommend the platform in it's current state. The 7800X3D continues to be the best gaming CPU. What do you think? Are you on the AM5 platform?

7800x3D is so nice to work with in 2024. its so easy to cool, and very easy to undervolt for even better temps. i love it

When people were having issues with their 13th gen CPUs people dismissed it. It is sad that it wasn't until a Korean company came out and said intel was fucked that people started to notice and now with level1 and GN getting on it people are finally starting to see how bad it really is.

Great update content man. These kinds of videos are just as crucial and important as the initial benchmark/review videos. Because it gives users a good insight on the long term experience which you just don't get from day 1 reviews. It's a shame the platform got off to a rocky start but nonetheless glad the majority of those issues are gone. Fingers crossed I don't have issues with my 14900k, but if anything ever arises, AM5 seems like a very viable alternative.

With the disaster of intel 13/14th dieing...AM5 was the right choice. No one would have predicted Intel would have released a degrading CPU, the AM5 catching fire situation was mostly limited to ASUS

Thank you I just bought a 7950x3d a couple days ago but all last week I was literally searching, am5 1 year later reviews, and couldn't find anything so this is appreciated

I built a 7950x a year ago. It's used for high end audio, primarily, and it's been rock solid. I do throttle max temp at 85c and undervolt all the CPUs slightly. Also, I run 6000mhz DDR5 at 5600. I haven't had a single problem, CPU headroom galore and heat isn't a problem at all.

It's really great to see how AM5 has improved since launch... And ironically Intel has gone the other direction. Looking like AMD may have a second "Ryzen moment" incoming now with everything they have going for them.

Since day 1 here 7800X3D, Sapphire 7900XTX. 32GB 6000 CL28. Perfectly fine.

Back in 2005 I bought a 256MB RAM module from a store I went to in Texas. It was a complete waste of money because it didn't work in my computer. I've had RAM that would work with other sticks of different brands and different speeds but usually I have issues mixing RAM. You gotta be careful with RAM. I still have that old 256MB stick of RAM that I bought in 2005. It's a reminder of the time I wasted my money because I didn't do any research to make sure it worked ahead of time.

I had the ram issues and i didnt know the cause thought it was the psu. Your video helped solve the issue. Got a deal on another kit that was 5600 similar timings if not better lower voltage. Using both kits rn at 5600 cl 30 with the subtimings tuned no issues at all.

That video made me save money and go AM4. I regret not getting the added performance, but honestly I probably wouldn't notice it.

Never had any issues with AM5 builds myself, but that was largely due to the newness of it I think. Most people who went AM5 builds with me just had me get parts for them, so I was able to avoid a lot of pitfalls.

While still with zero money, I decided to have a look at some basic computer parts for a AMD based system. APU, motherboard, RAM. The funny thing is that one of the reasons I would consider such a build (if I had money) is the long term support for the AM5 socket. Unless I am mistaken at least the next series of CPUs/APUs by AMD will be supported by AM5. Something which let's face it Intel is not great at.
Add to that the what appears to be very good power consumption for the CPU/APUs.

I said funny thing based on the lower length of time AMD usually supports their GPUs with drivers compared to Nvidia.

My point is, good video.

Also, love the shirt.

I just upgraded to a AM5 platform and so far it is stable and performs quite well. it has a Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite motherboard AMD 9800 X3D and G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo Series 32GB ram from the QVL list and it does quite well! Any all new platform is going to have teething problems but it seems it got worked out very quickly. The key was to fix the over over volting of the SOC keeping it at 1.3 or lower volts, first thing i did was flash to the latest bios Gigabyte had available. also the 9800X3D runs very cool with a basic 240 mm AIO cooling system installed.

Been always with Intel and with their current drama, I am thinking to switch team now. Thanks for the ram talk as it is something I always try to avoid when come to AMD platform.
