This has been and will always be one of my favorite Disney princess movies. It's like a combination of various princess stories (Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty) while adding its own unique spin to it. But more than that, it's a story where in the end the girl saves the guy. In most Disney princess stories the dashing, heroic Prince comes to save the damsel in distress princess, but here it's the opposite. Giselle saved Robert, and I'm not just talking about this scene with the dragon or them nearly falling to their deaths on the slick rain-soaked roof, I'm talking about how she saved him as a person. In the movie, he talks about how his wife left him and we see how Robert pretty much gave up on love and happiness, then Giselle remindes him of what it feels like to be happy and to feel true love with someone. She didn't just save his life, she saved his soul.
