This is honestly one of Disney's best films in my opinion. It's remarkable, because this is the type of movie that could have gone really badly, and probably has no right to be as good as it is. Yet it strikes the perfect balance between making fun of the studio's tropes and telling a truly genuine, heartfelt story. It never takes itself too seriously, but it also has many moments of warmth and heart. I think much of that can be attributed to the writing, but a lot of it I think also comes from the performance of Amy Adams, who, even though she was playing an overly exaggerated version of a fairytale archetype, still added layers to the character and made Giselle genuinely likable and endearing rather than just silly and annoying.

I love the fact that Robert is wearing the outfit Giselle dreamed about. Basically saying that Edward is the guy she was never meant to be with

Something I don't think gets spoken about enough is Idina's acting in this specific scene. She does so much with very little; how her face goes from delighted by the prospect of dancing with someone else to realizing (and accepting) her financé has fallen in love with someone else, all while trying to appear unaffected/unbothered. It's quite beautiful and not easy to achieve.

Earlier in the movie during the song "How Does She Know?" Robert says "I dont sing". And in this moment Gisele notices that Robert is singing to her 😭😭😭

This scene is MY Darcy hand scene. This is peak romance imo. How he’s singing to her, just for her, after she sang about that’s how you know someone loves you. This movie came out when I was 12. I’m 27 now and still not over it. This will remain a fave for life and I’m so excited for the sequel

I love the way Giselle looks confused at the ball she is between Robert and Edward, but in this scene she knows it's Robert 2:02 the way she smiles and she seems confident around him. She knows it was him.

1:51 "does he take you out dancing just so he can hold you close" "dedicate a song with words meant just for you" :((( he said he doesn't sing nor dance, yet he did, and that's how giselle knows that he's her love :(( so much details in this movie and i really love this part, and always makes me cry 🤎 can't wait for the sequel!
