My name is Bre. I took two years of small engine repair at the local college. When I left school, I fell into a wonderful job at a local small engine shop where I worked the counter for a couple years. In 2010 my husband and I opened up our own small engine shop in central Arkansas where I am able to work alongside my family and best friends. We saw over 2,000 pieces of small engine equipment every year, and answer 1,000's of small engine questions. We specialize in brands such as Briggs and Stratton, Kohler, Echo and Shindaiwa, but work everyday on MANY other brands like Stihl, Husqvarna, Honda, Craftsman, Remington, Red Max, Troy Bilt, Scag, Bad Boy, Hustler, World Lawn, Poulan, Mantis, Etc.. Hopefully, my experience I share, will save you Time, Money and Frustration in the future!

Makes $27M/year and cost both Deere and Ford $50M combined? If ANY employee at ANY level had cost either company $10K - gone, fired...yet they all keep CEO's making king's ransom salaries!

I purchased a new tractor, snow blower, blade and mower last year - and chose a Kubota - and hearing about all of this, I am SO glad I did. John Deere has lost their way and chosen the poorer path of greed rather than be a team player part of our country. They join Boeing in this horrible award.

10.5 million probably was far CHEAPER than actually paying those workers pensions and health care

Its really sad to see what used to be a really good company thrown down the toilet due to greed.

Well Ms. Bre, I took small engine repair/rebuild in High School 1971. I have found things were just made better back in the day. I have placed your link on my home screen. And. I truly appreciate all the knowledge you've imparted without the B.S. you've assisted me a lot. Thank you, for all your efforts and all you do. Keep-On-Keeping-On. Don from San Antonio. Texas. Where it's to darn hot presently.

Corporate greed ruined another company and put the screws to good hard working employees! Thanks Brie for the video. You are doing a great job young lady!

When I was a student at St. Edward’s University, my economics professor told us, “The sole reason a corporation exists is to increase shareholder wealth.” Wrap your head around that and everything gets explained. Investors expect to earn a profit for taking a risk. That is the core of free enterprise and when I worked for SLB, I engaged in the discount stock purchase program (becoming a shareholder myself) and also the profit sharing plan. I worked for SLB for 42-1/2 years and my risk taking paid off.

John Deere sounds a bit like AutoNation. They bought our dealership and the first words out of the new management's mouth was "we're shocked at how much you people are making". It's spiraled downhill from there. In one conversation they would tell us "sorry guys there's no money for raises" and then "thanks for another record-breaking profit this month". Couldn't wait to get out of that place.

My Father worked at GE for over 40 years. He started with he was 17 years old and retired at 63. The appliance division was sold to a Chinese based company shortly after he retired. Guys/gals that hired in a few years after my father, got royally screwed.

When I was a young man an old man told me to find a way to work for myself. He said nobody can fire me but me and the only limitations to my income would be up to me. My fear of working for a big corp is because of how quickly they can get rid of you

a friend of mine, the company he worked for. The president of the company gave the Vice President a list of people to fire. Then when the VP came back from firing everyone....The president of the company then fired the VP.

$4.3 million split between 116 people, not even figuring that lawyer fees will consume the majority of that amount; is only a one time payment of roughly $37, 000 per person. Their pension from 1984 would have cost John Deere exponentially way more than that over the decades, so in the eyes of the John Deere bean counters this is actually a huge win for John Deere.

Hi! I don't remember which video of yours I watched about cleaning/replacing the carb on a b&s mower but I decided to replace instead of repair because I have a tendency to lose or break small parts. I don't work on small engines but I do work on cars and do most of my home repairs myself. I just want to thank you for your easy to follow video and my mower started right up after replacing the carb you suggested that they sell on Amazon. I also decided to change the filter and plug because why not, they were in the recommendations to go with the carb. I was very pleased that for 25 bucks plus a quart of oil, (changed that too) I have a perfectly running mower again, Thank you!

The company I worked for did a similar dirty to employees. Two of the highest grossing managers I worked under were let go. One had been with the company 30 years. The other 27. They let go service reps in the same way. When I started with them in 1989, it was a family owned company. Everyone from the CEO down were on a first name basis. We were valued employees. Once the last family member retired, CEOs came in that had no experience in our business. The quality of the product nosedived. Customer service, once noted as the best in the industry went down the toilet. On site service went down as well. That's what happens when stakeholders matter more than anything else.
