To make the context breif on how the sandvich works in game, its a self healing item that takes up a weapon slot, when you use it, you become immobile and cannot attack while you eat it, and as you eat it, you gradually regain a small amount of health until you finish eating it, then get back into the fight.

In lore, all the individual parts of the sandvich are lab grown or genetically made somehow to cause this healing ability given the advertisement for this item (created by the in game company Mann Co.) advertises it with "NEW: MEAT!" Along with the sandvich itself being advertised as a blueprint as if it was a mechanical invention.

Heavy. Tf2 is just chalk full of memes, seriousness, silly and basically everything. Tf2 for the longest time had a bot in casual problem. You have to look for community servers in order to play. But apparently, valve started to ban ALL the bot hosting accounts. So it's safer to play the game in casual now. I personally didn't experience it. Maybe because I connect to European servers and that problem is less noted in euro servers. That's why you don't see it played AS much. But believe me, the game is super fun, and valve second most popular game. Or most popular. First being CSGO.

Allow me to explain it for you my friends:

The sandvich (spelled with a V not a W) is a secondary weapon for the class "Heavy Weapons Guy" replacing his shotgun.

Once equipped you have two options: you can use it, the heavy would eat it, progressively recover some health
Or throw it on the ground, Turing it into a health pack that heals anyone touching it.

After performing either of these actions, a cool down activate before you can do them again
