Hunting Down The Most Valuable Meteorite [4K] | Meteorite Men | Spark

Geoff and Steve revisit the site where their hunting partnership began back in 1997: the Imilac pallasite strewnfield high in Chile's Atacama Desert. It is winter at 11,000 feet in the driest desert on the planet, but with new equipment and grim determination, the guys persevere through the harshest of conditions and — on the desolate plains of Vaca Muerta — make one of the most significant discoveries of their careers.
--
For thousands of years, meteorites have slammed into the Earth's surface carrying an invaluable record of the origins of our solar system. But finding meteorites on Earth, some buried over centuries by thick layers of dirt and sediment, is no easy task.

Meteorite hunters Steve Arnold and Geoff Notkin travel to some of the most remote locations around the world to explore the scientific and financial value of meteorites. Featuring treks in Chile, Sweden, Australia, the US, Mexico, and more, these meteorite men meet with top scientists, geologists, astronomers, and meteorite experts to reveal a deeper understanding of how meteorites have helped to build our solar system and shape our planet.

You didn't have to steal the sign!!!

I love the sign too, but I strongly disagree with his decision to take it home, especially because he’s a guest in another country. Acts like that perpetuate the world’s perception of Americans as vapid consumerists “me first and fuck everyone else”.

What do you think you're doing!!, put that sign back where you got it from.

Only a thief would remove an antique sign. Is it yours? Put it back.

The old "we only have a little bit of time" cliche. Don't writers know, we know?

I grew up next to the Williamette Oregon meteorite. I believe I found a small one that has either nickel or gold in it!

That was pretty cool actually, to see someone invest 13+ years into something they enjoy and getting one of the best possible pay offs and a reason to celebrate is awesome, a real show of passion😂😁

So that big meteorite slammed into earth in a place that's been picked over for years and it was just sitting on top of the ground like that? I'm calling bullshit. Y'all planted that for the show because all you found was dust the entire time lol.
