As an introverted military brat, I learned to ask FORM questions in order to quickly make friends to play with and to eat lunch with. "F" stands for friends/ family/ function. "O" stands for occupation/ observations/ obsessions. "R" stands for recreation/ relationships/ region/ religion. "M" stands for movies/ motivations/ memories/ message.
Remembering F.O.R.M. helps me get over the awkwardness of talking to new people. Now if I could just remember people's names more easily. :0)

@Robert Greene - You are SO right! I've been studying narcissism for about 6 years now (I was in a relationship with a malignant Narcissist with NPD for 8 years) & I've not heard anyone talk about this point in much detail but, THIS is WHY they are able to hook people like they do. Especially, those of us who may have some self-esteem issues. It's hard to give up something (or someone) that validates our worth when we aren't able to see it for ourselves easily. The "feeling" of being fully accepted & admired is very addicting! Thank you for pointing this out.
