Here's the parts you need to build a budget 4K video editing PC for under $1000 in 2024! You will be able to edit videos in Premiere Pro and Da Vinci Resolve (or basically any other editing software), as well as edit photos, mix music, game, and live stream.

This video will show you all the parts you need, as well as explain why I recommend them. In addition, I have also added some upgrade parts that are a bit more expensive but should make this computer even faster.

I build computers for a living. Editing 4k with less than 32GB ram is a nightmare, I always recommend 64 gigs for 4k editing. The build in this video will not perform well at all. A similar priced AMD CPU with a slightly more expensive RX 7600 XT GPU will smoke the intel-nvidia combo listed in this build, especially if you use Davinci Resolve to edit.

For folks from India, I have checked the prices on 'Amazon India' for the parts mentioned above and the grand total comes to Rs. 97, 360/- (i.e. approximately $1, 166 USD). Hope this helps!😊

I have almost the same PC with the 3060Ti instead of the 3060. Initially went for 32gb of ram and in 4K the pc was STRUGGLING. Once I put 32gigs more bringing the total to 64, 4K editing - especially with h265 - is buttery smooth. Keep that in mind.

Just built it! Every thing works great. I had to learn that 3 pin fan connectors can go into 4 pin connectors. Didn't know that. But, all in all you put together a great list of compatible parts. Thanks, Matt!

64gb of ram is crucial for 4k editing. Theres hella rendering that goes on in EVERY SECOND. So overclocked 2 stick 64gb of ram is gucci lol. Get the 7700x overclock it to 5.0ghz+ it helps aswell. Rn microcenter got 7700xt for 350. Got 12gb vram. 750w psu, msi b650 pro wifi. 903max air case

I edited 20 vlogs on my samsung phone with titles which uses snapdragon chips. Cost 650£ I attach a 4 terabyte drive and a card reader to shuffle files. It was good to edit 2.5k and 1080 p on a real budget.

It's like you knew I was looking for an update on this! Used your previous guide to get a pre-built (Ryzen 7 5700x w/ RTX3060) and just seeing how it holds up in 2024. THANKS!!

64gb of ram is more important than a good video card if your main goal is video editing.

I am using the 14900k, 64gb ram, msi b760m mortar. No graphics card yet. It is still a beast doing light editing for 4k.

many video editing software programs allow you to work with 4K footage, and output your final cut to 4K... even if your computer and monitor are not 4K capable. sure, you will not be able to watch your final product in 4K on your computer, but you can still get the work done.

Do you have a $2, 000 budget video that isn't outdated? I just saw a PNY 12G GPU for $530 for just that part. If I'm going to do this, I'm probably doing it once and then buying body armor and 3 years of food with whatever I have leftover. Ha ha

Guys, these are my device's capabilities.
GPU : RX5700XT 8GB
CPU : I5 11400F
RAM 16 GB 3200 GHZ
M.2 256 GB
HARD 1 TERA HDD

I will do editing and animation like vox and motion graphics on FHD only. What do you think of my collection and what should I develop and start with in the OP?

Great video, thanks for the useful info! I'm new to this and you got me thinking about the mac mini. Curious what folks think about how a build like this would perform compared to an entry level M2 mac mini for around the same price?
