One important detail about purging: she says to look for things to keep, not throw out. Work from the positive space of keeping your items. if they don't spark joy, then purge then from your space...thank them for service, and say goodbye.

I do enjoy the way you broke down the steps in her book. I think it is important to add her very first step...visualization. what do you want your space to look like? what is your esthetic vision, theme. what kind of space do you want?

I read the entire book in one sitting and today started following the method.. i'm discarding 6 garbage bags full of clothes! My closet is still fully stocked with everything I love, but I can't believe that I had so much that was wasting space and wasn't being used that I just always overlooked. Doing the rest of the sections in order and i'm curious to see how much more unnecessary items I have in my home

I love this because I think objects do have energy / memory as everything in the universe is vibrational energy and the point you mentioned of reactivating an object that has become dormant is a real thing!
