I can't wait for the 1000km challenge in the e208

MG is getting software update at dealerships now, and it should charge even faster! Seen picture today in MG owners FB group, with screenshot, at 402V and 201A

If you work out the range charged (WLTP on e208 =200 miles and ZE50 = 245 miles) the e208 reaches 180 miles (90%) in 53 minutes whereas the ZE50 reaches 180 miles (74%) in 49 minutes!
The charge throttling is very severe on the e208!

Just saw you charging your Peugot next to our car between Larvik and Sandefjord!

it will be interesting to see a comparison based on kilometres charged (km/kwh calculated based on wltp or other "real" range). I'm not so much interested in who charges faster to 80%, but who adds more km of range in the same time.

Looking forward to see a 1000km challenge in the e-208

On May 1st I changed from winter to summer tyres and whilst there they upgraded my Kona. I charged it last week on a 50 kWh charger and received 49 kw all the way up to 80%, it then dropped to a 23 kw, I’ve yet to test it on a 100/150 kWh charger.

This is great results!! This Peugeot e-CMP platform seems very good! Efficiency in this e-208 could be a bit better, but still a great car

The Zoe passed the MG ZS at the 50 minute mark for total Kw charged.

Wonder why manufacturers do not target closer to 500V full battery voltage? That would still work with all chargers and recuire less amps (theoretical full 50kW from the start with 120A limited chargers).

Also the Zoe charged only 2kw less only in the same time as the MG...and only 5kwh less in 50m than the peugeot...so the zoe has a more balanced charging and also a better consumption!!

From 10% to 90%, the 208 charged 38kWh in 55 minutes. The zoe charged the same 38kWh in 55 minutes. The difference is not so big.. The high speed charging in a smal range and very low charging at higher soc doesn't make much sense. Thats why I love my i3s which is still charging with 34kW at 90% soc!

look at the video at 0:36, e-208 start 10% with 1min and 2 kwh . It stop at 90%, 53min and 39.98kwh so 52min to get 38kwh (10-90%) . Zoe start 10% with 0 sec 0kwh and reach 38kwh at 55min ( video at 5:57 ) but it's represent 80%. So, only 3 min faster even with 100kw CCS e-208 instead of 50kw ccs for Zoé. Imagine to charge on a 50kw DC charger or even on a 22Kw AC : Zoé will charge much more faster than e-208. My conclusion is that Zoé is a the best compromise wathever the charge point you found on your trip.

Old 30kwh Ioniq had a smaller battery but quicker charging. How would it compare to zs ev and e-208. Probably finish earlier with less range?

6:00 MG and ZS have the same speed. 🤣 That was a good one.

Hi. I am wondering why nobody talks about AC charging. Most people don't have DC at home and I think that with these smaller cars DC charging speed is a little bit overrated.

Just an example: My driving profile is 95% from home to work and back. At both locations I only have AC available. So I am more than pleased, that my Zoe charges with 22kW on AC. I got my ZOE for half a year now and have been driving 12000 km. I charged exactly twice on DC...

How fast can the other cars charge with AC?

When the e-208 reaches 90% with 39.9 kWh - 2 kWh = 37.9 kWh because you dont start at 10% with the e-208. When you look at the zoe for the same amount of time it has charged 36, 5 kWh. 1.4 kWh difference... not so much right ? And the difference is that zoe still charges a 25 kW all the way to 98%... And btw, you cannot compare the % directly, the e-208 is 46 kWh while Zoe is 52 kWh.
Same for MG ZS EV vs ZOE.

Yes please test the MG zs ev again in the summer!

Funny how the Ioniq Beat the Zoe to 80%.
