Why no one ever mentions that charging at Tesla Superchargers at up to 250 kW is half the price of other networks or even 1/3 of the price if you charge at off-peak times. Also the quoted 2.4p/mile charging at home is for an inefficient car, for a Tesla it's 2p/mile. Teslas do exist, it's important to inform the public of all options so they can make an informed decision on which EV to buy.

48p/kw you'll be lucky to find a public charger on that price. More like 78p/kw, I hate it when I turn up at a petrol station and to get the best price I have to fill up from the ultra slow pump!

You must take into consideration that if the sales of Petrol/diesel cars fall the lost tax revenue, currently around 60% at the pump, will be added to the EV charging tariff.

Basically all public charging is more expensive then Petrol. I drive an EV paid for by a company but it makes no sense as a private. User without a home charger. The price is not 48p it’s far more-I’m on the road every day this guy is talking bs

I have a Ohme home charger with Octopus Agile and tomorrow between 12 and 4 i can charge my car for less than 4.5p an kwh. So i will get about 80-90 miles and it will cost me pennies
Ive had my car 3 months this weekend and driven nearly 1800 miles. It has cost me about £45 instead of the £200 it would have done

0.32p per kW/h x 60 = £19.20 or am I missing something here?

Or get a portable charger and get a top up at work, if available. 8 hrs at work and I'm sure you will never have to pay to charge during a regular mundane week.

And the increase in electric cars will mean an increase in electricity prices and the removal of special charging and off peak rates. It's already started with the increase in Vehicle duty for electric vehicles, obviously nothing to do with reducing emissions then.

That's more expensive than petrol.

Why not just say how much it costs?

What's all this kilowatt nonsense?

How. Much. Does. It. Cost. To. Charge?
