I don’t mind Lego investors, as long as they don’t get mad about Lego remaking something

Lego investing is bad when the set is out of stock most of the time and they sell it immediately. In most other cases it's more than fine. The free market makes the sets get very expensive. There are a lot of (rich) people who pay way to much money for retired sets. To get the price down we need more sets for sale (basic economics), so more "investors" is a good thing. Some of them are too greedy though... It's more about how people act than the investing itself.

Dont forget to cross your fingers and pray everyone else doing this doesn't try and sell their sets the same time you do. That would really crash your market. Oh wait....

By hoarding all the sets others can’t buy them, also Lego investors sell at a stupidly high price just to make money

Lego resellers also control the prices of most retired sets. So in reality its more expensive.

I don't really mind investors or sealed box/package collectors, as long as they don't turn I to scalpers, I mainly collect trading cards to pay the respective games like magic, and Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon, but scalpers cause big trouble a lot and people go crazy over them which makes it harder to just get a single pack sometimes, but I love building with Legos as well

Lego investers when they invest £1000s on a set just for the value to go to £20:

What I’m mad about is the secondary market prices. Sure, $50 set turns into $80-$90 dollars later down the road, that’s to be expected. But let’s say a popular YouTuber makes a video about an old theme like… power miners, it gets attention and people want these old sets. They go to bricklink, and people like you raise the price so high even Lego itself would be disappointed. If people want it for a reasonable price, give them a reasonable price and stop crying about a loss in profits.

These sets won’t sell for what you think they will. You’re also advertising you have a large amount of lightweight boxed items that can be easily stolen and resold without a trace. Be careful what you post.

Ruining all the fun by buying the same Star Wars set 10 times a day bc it’ll probably be worth 40$ more in 5 years is wild

Bro any sealed or boxed retired sets bought bow are just from people who "found it lying around". "Investing" in toys is stupid and the only thing it does is empty the market of already old and rare sets...

Amazon always comes in clutch with good prices for retired sets.

This random video on my feed made me realise that my investment portfolio needs to either be in all-AI (which I’d never do) or Northrup Grumman or Shipping containers.
