Better Performance! What is the best weight for your RC Drift Car?

I recently shared the weight of my Redcat RDS on social media - and asked folks to share what their weights were.

Wow - there is a HUGE range out there!!!

It got me thinking again, so I decided to do some more testing.
Same car, same setup....but different weights. How does it change the driving dynamic and speed of the car? That is what I wanted to know!

Love the channel. Just ordered my first drift car, a D5MR. Figuring out what to equip it with and your channel is a great source for that!

My favourite topic!

Move back to 540 size motor and larger battery pack should allow you to increase the overall weight without adding items on to it 👍🏻

Get some sticky wheel weights to add a little weight and put it behind the rear axle. My RMX 2.0 is 67% rear bias static. I’ve got a lot of weight transfer in my car due to my setup. Under throttle I’ll bet I’m right around 75% rear bias.

Troy, I think Super G updated their weight to 1350g to be in line with RCDC 2023 rules. Could be wrong but Yokomo has some of the All Japan Drift rule changes on their channel too, most of which are implemented by Super G.

Mine is 32F 68R and 1500 grams but i prefer the heavier car i like the feel and how my wieght transfers. I beleive its all about how u tune your car not so much how much the car weight is

What I’m really curious about, if anyone has ever balanced their cars from left to right. I’ve never seen anyone talk about that.

Once you have the front to back ratio, balancing both sides would make the car a little heavier, yes, but you should have a more balanced overall driving experience.
