I'm 70 and about to render the exterior of my home. I've been in construction for 35 years. Tape/bed, texture, paint, carpentry, tile, you name it so I m pretty confident I can complete this job nicely. I had a hard time understanding you but I got the best of it. I'm thinking you used concrete glue you were brushing on. I didn't understand what you called it.

I use rendergrip on high suction blocks or sbr but I mix it with a bit of cement and sand then paint it on. If I was going over paint I’d rendergrip and mesh it. Hate going over painted surfaces and always go over the top with the prep so I don’t get any come backs.

Hello, just a house wife interested in doing some work myself; regarding the uneven steps (tripping hazard) in your garden, you could have, or may consider making the first step higher by adding some bricks and rendering those. That way, you’ll have two even steps. Will be a lot easier for your darling baby once she starts walking. All the best. Enjoy your tutorials.

Little tip with some of the large cracking in the block work that will come through the render:
Grind them out with a 9 inch grinder and point them up before you render.
Can stick some ties in to be safe if it’s real bad.

Rend aid or key coat primer saves any hassle with the sbr 👍🏻

I would agree with Tommy why not scud the wall when I work in UK we scud the walls cheap than grip stuff

Great video again!
Is the fine yellow building sand the same as plastering sand, and do you use the same grade sand for both scratch coat as the top coat?
Regards thanks.
