I bought a Yamaha rx-v1000 for 50 bucks and Athena subwoofer and speakers for 45 bucks and hooked it up and boy, it sounds awesome, this thing is so old and the quality is amazing. Old stuff is just good and old music too

For anyone out there that thinks these old receivers are crap....last year I sold a Sansui 9700 receiver and a pair of JBL L220 speakers for more than I paid for them back in the 70's I still have another receiver like the one that was used in this demo that I am going to hook up to BT to be out in my shop and hook up an old iphone 4 as an ipod for it with the tunes from the 60's and 70's that kids around will probably hate and hopefully keep them away from my shop at night . Santana will rule again !!!. I bought a pair of JBL L65's for a C-note that were water damaged on top so I scuff sanded them and sprayed them with black melamine paint and they look and sound awesome.

I had that same exact amp 30 years ago. It was better than anything I’ve had since.

Thank you. I was hooking up mine today and was missing something. I got it now. I bought an adapter...and it's working great.

I used to have that exact receiver. One side burned out so I got it fixed. About a year later same side blew again so I gave it to my friends step dad who was an audio video geek. Still have the speakers and they still sound great. Miss that receiver.

I connected an Echo Dot to my 20 year old Sony receiver. Now I have Bluetooth w/voice control. (RCA to 3.5mm plug). The only problem is if you have the music up loud, the Echo can't always hear your initial call out for any change in instructions..lower volume, change song, etc. Overall, a nice upgrade to an old unit for the price.

A lot of old electronic devices are easy to use and have a charm about them. Old electronics only needs the electrolytic capacitors replaced to get them as good as new, even if they still seem Ok. Thanks for the great idea on the bluetooth..

I miss my old Technics equipment. I has turntable, 200 wt receiver and speakers and also some killer Genesis speakers.

Sweet, I was about to do something for this old Kenwood reciever I have but this is much simpler. I like the older style stereos, analog technology just seems way better.

Very informative. Thank you sir, i did mine, adding a line driver, like your other video. And it's now working. Awesome!

Excellent - I found one second hand, half price, fitted it to my wife’s favourite sound system & she loves using it from her phone / iPad. I’m going to buy another.👍

I used to look down on Technics receivers, until I was given a lil 35w/channel SA-300 and put it with some nice 100w speakers....The lil thing got some kick.Speakers are the key with these silver faces. Also have Sansui G8700 DB, Pioneer SX-950.Nice vid, Peace

Once I restore my Pioneer Sx-1250, I'm gonna add this to it so I don't have to fumble around for my aux input cable anymore!

I knew it was a Fusion BT-100 Dongle as soon it came into view, I work for Fusion in Phx, Az. Cool idea to use for home stereo system.

I got the audio engine bluetooth box for a marantz 2235, it has rca hookups in the back. so I just plug it in to the aux jacks and it works and sounds fantastic

2019 Now walmart sells bluetooth car adapters for less than $10 with usb plug for power. Just add headphone aux to rca adapter.

Good idea. Going to try it on my 70s Luxman kit.

Good video. It's the route I'm taking. One comment is that you mentioned you could probably get by with a 500 mA 12V power supply. In fact even that is 25X more than you need. The Fusion BT 100 runs on only 20 mA according to their spec sheet. Probably any 12V supply on the planet can run this thing.

Another, and perhaps more compelling way for wireless is Apple's Airport Express. Connect it to your modem/router and then to RCA input that's available on receiver. Now, listen to iTunes music library stored on computer or iCloud wirelessly from receiver. Also, the Airport Express will allow you to use iPhone or iPad as a music player, or remote for iTunes on computer with receiver outputting those tunes too.
