I have a 2240 B... I Love it! I bought it from a St. Vincent de Paul store for $120, and paid a technician $120 to service it. It's the best $240 receiver I've seen. I've been using it every day for 3 years, it sounds GREAT!
Thanks for the video.

Those old Marantz blue dial receivers are so classic. That's what I started with. That was a special time when Hi Fi was booming in the 70's. It's incredible how far the industry has come and the prices to boot.

I bought a Marantz 2250 back in 1976. The best stereo I ever had.

I've known how to do this for a long time now, but I thumbs up because you didn't have a 3 minute intro telling me who you are and a montage

My Mom had the marantz that was a step above that in model number. They sound so amazing. Clarity is unmatched to some of todays receivers.

I have a Yamaha CR-620, with much the same plug inputs, but your video has helped me visualize how a setup like this would work and I'm thankful. Super clear and simple to understand. I struggled to find an article that explained the best way to do this plainly.

My parents bought a Pioneer sx-535 receiver for me in 1974. Had it and played it for 25 years. I think your Marantz is higher end. There was something special about the sound coming out of those receivers.

Thanks for the video and information.

It makes me think back to the day. I really like those late 1970's vintage Marantz receivers with the blue displays. I started out with a 2226, BIC turntable with Stanton cartridge, Pioneer Cassette and JBL L36 speakers for $1.000. That helped me establish my credit while attending college. My grades went up because I stayed in my room more listening to my system and actually studied.

That era was a lot of fun and I enjoyed all the catalog wish books of gear and vinyl as low as $3.99. It was so fun to go into the different Hi Fi stores to look at all the new gear. Incredible how much some of that vintage equipment is going for today. A new pair of retro JBL L100's for $4k that were $600 back then. I realize technology has made quantum leaps since then and they can't be compared. I don't have that kind of disposable income anymore either.

A Bluetooth will get my old gear set up again and I will hear my music without the pops and clicks of my old vinyl collection. Who would have thought back then that today I carrying my favorite music on a 3/8 inch long card that fits into a phone that is slightly larger than an old cassette tape.

Kids these days don't know what they're missing with these old stereo systems(but then again who wants to listen to their crap on a badass sound system anyway?) I had an old Technics system that could be heard clear as a bell down the street. The good ol days.

I've been trying to figure out how I can play my smart phone through a stereo receiver, I've asked numerous electronic people on how I can do this, their response was "Just buy a wireless speaker, they sound great!!! " Ummmm, No!!!... my thought was they wont sound like a vintage receiver w the power they have & through vintage speakers that can handle that power, just like you said in this video. I just picked up a Marantz 2215B yesterday & have been YOUTUBING most of the night last night & started up this morning how I can do maintenance to my unit & that's when I stumbled across your video....I said > Finally!!!! at long last, someone who knows what they're doing Thank you for this video!!!!

Nice to see someone who understands electronics (I was in it from 1981 at Westinghouse, then Kodak for 18 years and Rochester Institute of Technology 11 years until I retired) Most of the 70's I was an electrical contractor. I've always been a hobbyist, designer for work and in rock bands building speakers, crossovers, pre-amps, stomp boxes, So rewarding! Thanks for the videos! Love term term you use "wall wart" HA HA! I thought it was just local slang!

I bought the Harman Kardon BTA 10 after viewing this and it saved me from the need to throw my near-30 year old JVC receiver in the trash. I used your mini tutorial to set it up also, because what you've shown here is better than the documentation that comes with the device, or the support material that's available on the manufacturer's website. Many many thanks, kind sir. BTW, that is one sweet piece of vintage equipment. I thought that might be some mid-70's gear as I used to hang with a kid who had the best system in the neighborhood, and his looked similar as I recall.

Never thought of this. I have my old SIRIUS receiver going into my Sansui 9090 via FM in my shop. I've been plugging the SIRIUS ac power adapter into a wall plug every time I turn the stereo on. Now I'm, going to run out to my shop (where the Sansui is) and plug the SIRIUS into the "switched" plug on the rear of the stereo and eliminate having to do that every time I go out there. Cool. And now I think I've got the idea for hooking up my 'iDroid' (old smartphone - not Apple!) which has tons of our fave music stored on it. Thanks for the info!

I had a 2275 for many years. Finally got tired of old electronics developing minor but annoying issues and me taking huge heavy equipment across town to get fixed. Upgraded to Naim Audio stuff. But still love those old Marantz receivers and am happy they are still in service and making people happy even with the latest tech.

Great job. I’m electronically challenged and the little instructions that came with my Bluetooth receiver didn’t show a novice like me a thing. Watch your video one time and within minutes it was up and playing great ! I’m playing through my smart phone. Have great speakers with subs and a Old 800 watt Sony receiver. Thank you

was just researching which bluetooth device to add to my Marantz 2235 and came across your video. Simple and timely. Thanks so much. Just reinforced what I hoped would be the fix I needed.

Just did this a month ago with my Pioneer SX205. Then did it to my subwoofer system (rca) and 2 black Web karaoke party speakers. I rock. Yeah, it's loud.
