Dr. Brené Brown is a researcher professor at the University of Houston, Graduate College of Social Work, where she has spent the past ten years studying a concept that she calls Wholeheartedness, posing the questions: How do we engage in our lives from a place of authenticity and worthiness? How do we cultivate the courage, compassion, and connection that we need to embrace our imperfections and to recognize that we are enough -- that we are worthy of love, belonging and joy?

As an artist this is spot on. My sister once told me I’m equal to art in target or home goods. I deserve target prices. It’s he’d me back and got me off my path. I’m know now I’m worthy. I actually had art in a museum at age 17. I lost a lot of time but I learned boundaries and self care. I’m painting again.

For those of you reading this comment, it's okay, it's normal to feel lonely sometimes, if you're going through tough times, keep trying, but never give up,

As always, it was an excellent presentation by Brené Brown, the hard reality I learned from years of working in a corporate role is, that your co-workers are not your friends, never be loyal to any company, they will replace you overnight, and never change who you are just to fit in, always be your authentic self, remember bullies are not only in the playground but at work as well. Never stay in a dead-end job, if you are not happy, start planning, and start applying for other jobs, shut off social media, because you deserve to be happy, you matter, and you deserve to be respected.

She is absolutely spot on. When you become your authentic self and not live your life according to the way others want you to live, you will indeed get your A$$ kicked. And at times, kicked hard. But continue on your journey to be your authentic self. All things are working out for your good. It will set you free on a higher vibration. ❤❤

Brene, you deliver in a powerful way, you clear the road bring the clarity to the surface. You think where others can’t, and their cheap 2 cents are nothing more than reactions, which are actually boring to the rest of us.

Keep being profound, thank you for your work!!

You didn't read the rest of it. The end of the speech is the very best part of the whole speech. I discovered this speech about a year ago and it bowled me over. I went to my computer and made posters of the speech to hand out to everyone I know

Shame, scarcity and comparison, so true! And it’s not necessarily comparing ourselves to others… it’s what we think we should have already obtained.

This piece really gets into me, especially when I'm feeling doubtful about myself. The "Arena" comes to mind when I am feeling people are trying to put me down for whatever reason. I hope this gets shown in schools, especially Jr. High and High School.
