The Nonlocal, Entangled, Conscious Universe: From the Spookiness of Limited Mind to the Undivided Wholeness of Reality, Menas Kafatos, Ph.D., Fletcher Jones Endowed Professor of Computational Physics, Chapman University

Quantum mechanics brought in the role of observation in a primary way, and the participatory universe of John A. Wheeler is a natural consequence of measurement theory in standard John von Neumann quantum view established more than 80 years ago. Recently, entanglement has been demonstrated in macroscopic diamond crystals, implying that non-trivial quantum e ects are not con ned to the microscopic realm. Quantum theory in its foundations implies a primary role for the mind and interactions of observers with objects under observation. Yet, despite these profound experimental results confirming quantum physics, neuroscience assigns mental activity to physical process and seeks explanations in neuronal connections and processes with no obvious role for the observer or agency implied by quantum physics. Although advancing our knowledge of correlates of conscious experience and yielding great medical advances, brain science through its fundamental physicalist assumptions has yielded little in the actual understanding of experience and mind.
e emerging view proposed here is that entanglement, nonlocality and coherent structures are all manifestations of the universe which is basically living and conscious. Consciousness manifesting as awareness, of objects and the observing agent, is primary,
rather than derived through blind processes as current materialist approaches claim. Entanglement is not a peculiarity of quantum mechanical phenomena at microscopic scales. It is instead the natural feature of the primacy of consciousness, operating through three fundamental principles of complementarity; creative interactivity and sentience; and recursion. The main issue is not how such the universe is nonlocal and entangled but rather how it appears as made of distinct, physical objects. What is proposed is that the mind creates a veiling of undivided wholeness. It is both the new and also ancient vision of non-duality, which we should pass on to the next generations.

This lines up with my view of mortality vs. immortality. Such depends on how you identify your sense-of-beingness. A temporal subjective view of self increases your sense of mortality. Conversely, as you begin to see your beingness as an entangle figment of a universal process, a sense of immortality is feasible. Every "thing" is non-local, alive things are just biologically set up to differentiate and manipulate reality to survive. "Local" is a creation of the nervous system.

What is seldom said is that nonlocal entanglement is very painful. To be entangled away from the universal mind or from that primal ground of unity hurts. From this separation and entanglement comes all suffering in all matter and all living beings. The effort to deny the return to unity by misdirecting desire is what evil is. Desire gets the blame for maintaining suffering but all desire is for the return to unity consciousness. So in a conscious ( identity) universe there is continual and eternal suffering caused by primal separation.

In ancient science there are 12 primordial principles that are non local, eternal and infinite. In fact they are not driving anything - they are always in a "quantum state" - but they can also appear as patterns of existence in unlimited variations.

I don't think our HUMAN mind will ever grasp what reality is under any circumstances.

we as the mind burdened by duality get full of it consume it to the last bit get the illusion of of grasping it; have then no where to pack but to the easy gift of oneness to call it a day .

Letters are like little metaphors standing for a sound but meaningless, with a few exceptions.

Words are concatenations of letters, 'bigger' metaphors, whose meanings can be found in dictionaries where one often finds a list of meanings, context obviously important to the appropriate selection.

Sentences are concatenations of words, even 'bigger' metaphors that supply the context for the words within them. As the teacher said, you need to write a complete sentence in order to express a thought. Sometimes you need more than one sentence to express an idea and voila, introducing paragraphs. You can see where this is going...

Metaphors, metaphors, the mind is made of metaphors that we all are calling thoughts.
The universe is made of metaphors else you couldn't think about it.
Metaphor is fundamental and not something else.
IMHO naturally, but I can't see how anyone honest
could fail to agree.

One mistake, the lower bound on number of universes by M-theory (10^500) is not bigger then Googolplex (10^(10^100)). It is however bigger then Googol (10^100).

I'm terrified by this video. Spooked, to be exact.

The comments of this video are more profound than video itself. It says little about the video but a lot about the audience, maybe

I have issues with bringing in 'consciousness' to quantum fluctuations... which delves into pseudo-science IMHO.

Just because you can't comprehend the "speed" doesn't mean it doesn't exist. 20 times the speed of light is a precise measurement and does in fact exist. How can you dismiss a fact to be fiction without justification? This is science, isn't it?

The great error of metaphysics spirituality, is that consciousness is identity-less, there’s no I at all.
To self is on this side of the veil.
To self, is a verb.
This observes a selfing.
