Nobel Prize 2022 - Universe is not real | Where quantum physics meets Vedanta

The Nobel prize for physics this year has been awarded to physicists who proved that the universe in not real. ‘The Universe is not real’ - a concept that Vedanta has been proclaiming for millenia. The latest proof to this comes from this year's Nobel Prize winning physicists Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger.
We have finally arrived at a day where we are discussing the paradoxical aspects of quantum physics that can be easily resolved by applying the principles of Advaita Vedanta.

Physicists are now toying with the idea that the very purpose of the universe was to create conscious observers. Until observers appeared, the universe was in a state of quantum flux. It did not have any shape or form before observers came into being. All these sound less like physics and more in the territory of metaphysics.Is it possible to make sense of these bizarre findings? I indeed makes perfect sense when you look through the lens of Vedanta.

Einstein laid the foundations of Quantum Mechanics. When he explained the photoelectric effect, for which he received the Nobel Prize, he proved that light comes in packets of energy which he called Quanta. The name “Quantum Mechanics” comes from here.

What bothered Einstein was the probabilistic nature of Quantum Mechanics, something he found difficult to reconcile with. But being a true scientist, he respected the mathematical calculations of his peers, accepted the evidence provided and awaited a different, more acceptable explanation.

The Nobel Prize in Physics for 2022 was awarded to the scientists Zellinger, Aspect and Clauser for their work in establishing that entangled particles violate Bell’s inequality, which in turn pioneers a lot of work in Quantum Information Science. It does not claim that all reality is an illusion or anything similar.

Quantum Mechanics is a rather difficult subject that requires a very high level of mathematical as well as experimental expertise and it is very easy to jump to wrong conclusions with inadequate knowledge.

I consistently find it amusing as to how even children of Bhaarat are so unduly enamoured by modern, objective science to the neglect of the fundamental Science and the real Scientists (the Rushis). That it takes a person in another country wearing a coat/gown to convince us of the already disclosed Realisations millenia ago comes somewhat as an embarrassment.

Hello Ma’am. My mother sent me this video which educated her ; my gratitude. Beginning from 3:14, unfortunately it is false. Our conscious observation does not bring the particle into existence. An inanimate observer will also collapse the wave function. This is called as an Observer bias where a simple act of measurement alters the system being measured. A measurement can never be truly passive: the instrument measuring the phenomenon disturbs the phenomenon itself, like when we measure tire pressure we end up losing a bit of air. So, it’s not that we observe the wave into a particle, it’s just that we haven’t created a perfect measurement system that wouldn’t disturb the system itself, a disturbance caused by both conscious and Inanimate object. Having said that, interpreting the interference results as us bringing things to existence is reaching.

PS: it was discovered that the universe is not LOCALLY real. It’s a big difference. Quoting: “Local” means that objects can be influenced only by their surroundings and that any influence cannot travel faster than light.
