I'm glad you're not in the boat you need some Bank fishing videos. Anyone else agree?

Can we do a video on dealing cold spring weather patterns? In the northeast all we have is water temps below 50 still.

I have to embarrassingly admit that I am as big tackle junkie has Matt and Tim. I have used almost all of the Bates mentioned or some of similar styles. My favorite is the plain whole Pop R. There is however one that was missed and has been around forever. Fish don't always like sound. One of the best early morning and late evening lures to use under calm water conditions and assuming you know your body of water is the original Rapala or something similar. It is quiet and under calm conditions will slay the Bass. One of the best lessons I ever learned happened about 30 years ago when my son and I were fishing and area on a lake we knew well and knew that there were many fish at that time of year. We had about seven areas to fish and decided to fish them as we always had other years. I caught one bath on the last area. Two fishermen in a rowboat came in behind us and for the next hour and a half we got to watch them catch one bass after another on the original Rapala. I had those in my tackle box for at least 30 years before that date. I had caught many bass on them over the years but in getting tied up with all the new lures put them aside. Lesson learned. I am 69 years old and still learning.

I would like to thank you guys for the biggest bass of my life. Today (4-24-2020) I caught a 6.85 lb Iowa farm pond bass on a squarebill Bluegill color. You are always saying bluegill color for ponds and hearing that so often on your vids I knew I had to get some and it works. Thanks guys for helping me have one of the best days of fishing in a long time. I can't stop smiling. 😄

the Heddon Torpedo in bull frog was my best friend growing up. that little prop bait just got smashed so consistently. my dad would fish that thing so painfully slow and he would smash them when nothing else would work.

Caught my PB on the Standing Yabbie I found through your channel many moons ago just the other week, 6 lbs. Thanks to you and this video I just ordered the Jackall Kaera Frog and the Whopper Plopper in bone. My favorite way to fish my lake is in the thick stuff with a frog and my ditch pickles love nothing more than to murder them so thank you on behalf of myself and my fish friends for satisfying all parties involved.

Well the cat is out of the bag. I live in midwest and have been killing the bass on BONE color ever since you introduced me to the Whopper Plopper. Thanks for all that you do. You make us all better.

Love the advise Matt, as always great information. I’ve never heard you or Tim talk about jitter bugs or hula poppers? I know their old school, but maybe going back to something different in pressured water will help catch fish? Keep up the great work, love the beard man!

My top water setup is a 6’9” Kistler Feel n’ Reel with a Shimano Scorpion MGL XG. I got that spooled up with 50 lb. Sufix 832 main line with 12 lb. Sufix Advanced mono leader. My favorite lures are the Whopper plopper 90 and the Heddon super spook jr.

I’m surprised you didn’t talk about the jackall pompadour, such a killer bait for fishing flooded timber and bush (especially the junior size).

Totally agree with you on the 110 Whopper Plopper - I love the 130 too but that 110 just covers more scenarios and I can use any of my MH rods.

My best tournament secret is top water! 1. Pop-r in the morning on points, parallel to shore 2. Zara spook. ( no rattle s) and change out the back hook and put a popper tail: buck tail—- work the bait then pause, almost excruciating long pause 3.Hawg wobbler/ black jitterbug, put split split rings on hooks 4. Scum frog thick weeds 5. No weight wormhook finesse fish over the pads on top. Number 1 smallmouth top water. Spittin image!!

Matt: "I admit I'm a tackle junkie." ...The first step in ending an addiction is admitting you have a problem.... Somehow I think Matt will never get to the other steps in ending his addiction... and I won't either. Don't tell my wife I said this! ;)
