This episode we finally reach Nokstella, grabbing some Somber 7 stones so you can get a +10 weapon if you couldn't do the trick jump, and continuing along the Ranni questline. We also gain access to the Wing of Astel, one of the best intelligence weapons in the game.

For the shadow, this still works on 1.08 patch. Enter the cave and stay to the left. He's standing next to some tombstones. Just get on the opposite side of those. He won't hop over them and you can get hits on him or spam him with whatever you want. He will start moving around them so keep the tombstones between you and him as you circle. Just use them as a barrier to get hits on him but you'll still have to dodge and roll backwards because his strikes still have a little distance past the tombstones.

Man, I respect the shit out of your commitment to melee combat. I told myself at the beginning that I didn't want to cast spells, and now every time I get some high ground it's open season on anything and everything my Loretta's bow can reach, lol.

If you guys are interested in Ranni's lore im pretty sure cowboy missed a few chances to talk to her doll (maybe he spammed all the lines before?). Would recommend that you talk to her doll at every bonfire (site of lost grace). Pretty sure i got some interesting lore stuff at the bonfire before the baleful shadow fight.

I swear, no matter what I do, I end up using your videos for a guide. I tell myself "no, this game I'm gonna explore myself" and then a situation like me with a lot of runes and no remaining estus and uncertainty ahead comes, and I'm like... So at 8:20 just a tip if you use magic to kill the ball while its still on the ceiling its possible that the larval tear wont drop to the ground and will get stuck floating in the air where the ball was. Try knocking it down before killing it. This just happened to me and i had to refresh.

Glad to finally have some somber 7s! Couldn't find them anywhere and then, boom, a bunch of them.

Baleful Shadow is very tough, but he's much easier to take down if you lure him into the building with the elevator. For some reason, his variety of attacks seems to be much less in the building, but the ones he does have are easier to dodge or block with your shield. I was able to pin him against the wall and unleash on him before he could fight back. I don't think you can do the trick like you can with the crucible knight earlier in the game where you can lure him into the empty elevator shaft for an easy victory. It seems he will stop short of the door even when agro.

Another thing I'd recommend is you spend your runes (and get the grace) BEFORE going for that stonesword key. The ants guarding it are very, VERY tough.

for anyone struggling with the blaidd fight and u wanna just win and get out . use a weapon like the nightrider halberd or any weapon that has good reach and spam giant hunt u can perma knock him up with that and the fight is a joke with that.

in the cathedral with the 2 mimics and the dancer, if you stand at the doorway, one mimic at a time will slowly advance on you and you can fight them separately outside. Then you can fight the dancer all by itself.

I have been exploring and got to Lake of Rot and have no idea what to do. Lol, I got one passage to open to the right, but that's it. Again, thanks, brother!!
