The dumbest thing that the smartest man alive did was immediately telling Wanda how to disable Black Bolt.

I can understand Reed Richard's underestimating Wanda, but Charles could've easily read Strange's mind and saw that his universe's Wanda is much stronger than theirs, and thus could've warned his teammates.

My thought is that they needed him to die, and could not figure it out. So they were like " ah, hubris"

Given some of the disturbingly amoral things Reed has done to his own children to restrain THEIR mutant powers if Wanda had encountered one of those Reed Richards, there's a strong possibility that Wanda or her kids would have been dealt with harshly and permanently

the weirdest thing about this movie is how inconsistent wandas powers are.
Like how she removed black bolts mouth instantly without even blinking.
What stopped her from removing anyone elses mouth and nose and making them suffocate to death?

Watch again. Mordo has the time stone and he is fine. He will reset everything. This isn't an attempt to fight Wanda, this is an easy way to get her to leave.

I really hope he makes another appearance. Hopefully they can travel across the multiverse again and come across another version of him. John krasinski would’ve been an excellent addition to the permanent MCU lineup of actors.

Engaging first lets you begin understanding your opponent better. If you strike early and your opponent knows their own weakness, they will play their strength to protect it. Trading blows one after another will let you get an opening gage, then start tuning it in to figure out a strategy to beat your opponent. If this opponent matches all of us as one, we can pick apart her duration combat and understand her over time until we win. Rule of first move doesn't go so well when you underestimate your opponent tho.

i read about something that they didn't know that wanda is that powerful—they assume she is just like her variant in their world—so they approached her that way

Reed is also the most pompous man alive who has a tendency to run off at the mouth.
I have no problem with what happened, it's still in character.

He underestimated her. He assumed he was dealing with a Wanda like the one from his universe. He wasn't expecting a Wanda that was bulked up with the dark magic equivalent of steroids and full of enough anger and grief to destroy anything and everything in her way.

The thing everyone seems to forget (and it's easy to gloss over, since it's the same actress) is that MCU Scarlet Witch has *possessed the body* of Earth-838 Wanda Maximoff. They're all holding back and trying to reason with her because a.) they're used to dealing with the sane, retired homemaker Wanda and don't fully grasp how unhinged the Scarlet Witch is (up to this point, she's blown up robots and broken some doors down), and b.) they're trying to save *their* Wanda, a mother of two children, from dying.

If they'd wanted to *kill* Wanda, they would have won. They tried to be heroes and save everyone, and it was the wrong play in that situation. They just weren't ready for utterly corrupted, casually murderous Wanda. Just like they were slow to see the difference between their Strange and MCU Strange.
