Alright, folks, if you're letting your dog jump in and out of the car willy-nilly, you're risking their joint health big time.

In this video, I'm breaking down the top 3 must-know tips for keeping your dog safe during car trips. From teaching them a solid "stay" to helping them get out safely (because yeah, those joints take a beating), this is stuff you need to know. Trust me, after 20+ years in police canine training, I've seen what happens when these steps are ignored.

Don't learn the hard way—watch now and protect your pup!

Great advice. I've learned a lot by listening to your tips and how to handle and train dogs. I just wish I knew as much as I know now 30 years ago.

I'm really glad you addressed the jumping in and out of vehicles. Especially for heavier breeds. So many people do not understand how much damage is being done until too late.

As a dog groomer I've seen fatal injuries from dogs being so excited and them just jumping out of the car. Heart breaking always look both ways and give them assistance!

Thank you for the important information about helping my dog in & out of the vehicle! ❤

She always wants to try and do it herself, but I’ve always assisted her, especially when it’s a high distance.

She’s been my service dog for the last 7 years & is currently 8. She has no joint issues so far & I’m doing everything possible to keep it that way as long as possible.

Excellent advice!!!
I will need your services when I relocate my Saluki mix back to America. Mid to end of December.
I am too soft and she needs direction. Love your channel.

My dog it's 7 and 6 month ago we found out he had a little bit of arthritis in one of his vertebrae, the vet said it was from jumping and the stairs, he started to use the elevator (we were on the 1st floor), later we moved to a house with no stairs, he's so much better now. Plus he receives daily massages 💪🏻🐶

Never knew about this. I feel horrible know seeing why my dog might hesitate whenever we tell her to get off the car. Gonna start helping her out now.

I agree about tips 1 and 2.
In fact I use these theories when leaving the house, crossing the street, etc (basically, all barrier threshholds).
Tip 3 > never heard of it, or thought of it!! Definitely gonna try it!! 😊

When I first got my dogs I watched a lot of ur videos, I learned a lot and I’ve noticed that a lot of videos of urs that I’ve never seen I already know how to do because of the mentality and techniques I learned from the older stuff

I have one of those anti-fatigue mats on the garage floor to provide cushioning when the dogs jump down out of the car.

Thank you SO MUCH for the tip about helping them
Down; I have 2 large rotties getting older & actually bought a 2nd car vs our truck because I was worried. Now at least I have another choice. I do have a great set of accordion lightweight stairs to help them get in the truck but this is still extremely helpful tip😊
