This remind me of Anthony Bourdains series but strength based. I feel like we get these glimpses into cultures I never would have seen before. Excellent work.

I play amateur American football in Shanghai. One of our players is ethnically Mongolian from Inner Mongolia, and wrestled as a teenager. He is by far our best offensive or defensive lineman

The second place white pantss name is called Gegereh. My father used to coach him and he is currently one of the best wrestler in Southern Mongolia. Wrestling is highly connect to the honor of wrestlers hometown, u can see the mongol word on the knees of the white pants is Bairan which is my beloved home town as well, a small part of Southern Mongolia. We highly respect our wrestlers it's like wrestling NBA for us.

My mum's been all over the world traveling, she stayed with a Mongolian family in a traditional yurt for a week and then went to one of those festivals and traveled around the country. She reckons that Mongolia is her favourite place that she's ever been to and when I said she's been all over the world I meant it(even Antarctica).

On my HS wrestling team we had a coach from Korea who was trained in Mongolian wrestling and one day a week he would randomly partner us across weight classes and have us wrestle Mongolian style. It didn't help much match-per-match but taught us so much regarding things like conservation and expenditure of strength/energy. My 130 lb buns had to learn to combat the superior strength of a 240 lb hulk, while he had to learn to deal with my speed and maneuverability. Undoubtedly some of the most valuable training I ever had.

I've been to Inner Mongolia and Mongolia. I miss those places, Mongolian people are very giving, generous and will hook you up if you are on their good side. They can be pretty crass and temperamental but they are (generally) great people. And when you visit Mongolia you really understand the term "built different". You gotta be "built different" to be from and live there, its NOT for the weak.

Congratulations martins, this is a really cool rewarding way to extend your career as a WSM title holder and strength athlete. Excited to see you compete soon but happy to see you really enjoy your life and explore the world… and even better you are sharing it with us!

If you think of a people who have historically been considered the embodiment of strength, Mongolia is one of the first names that comes to mind. This is exactly the sort of thing I want to see in a series about the different strength cultures around the world. Mongolian wrestlers are some badass dudes.

Grappling is found in every indigenous culture around the world, and Unites humans across all cultural boundaries, I loved this, and the Dinnie stones is gonna be epic too I know it (learned about them as a kid)
Keep including grappling! (Is there a sumo episode yet? Judo? Collar and elbow in Ireland?) 🎉

This was... really great. I think there's something special about going in so blind.

I've heard (not experienced) that the best type of tourism experience is when you wind up doing something completely unexpected and just follow your interest as you get to learn a new place. That's what you did here, and better yet, you brought us along with you!

I think this could be a new genre of documentary, almost (at least new to me).
