Minor point, the "giants" in old Norse mythology aren't actually "giants" the way we think of them. It's sort of a cross translation thing, but giants are are actually the same species as the gods, they're just a different family, so they're the same size as the gods, and completely humanoid.

Wow. I’m so used to Greek mythology that I assumed all myths end with the moral basically boiling down to: don’t mess with arrogant gods.

So fascinating and refreshing to learn of one with actual morals.

Thor raised the horn to his lips, and drank the surprisingly cold, and salty mead, in the longest gulps he could muster

Plus sharks, octopuses, whales, fish, jellyfish, coral, seaweed, etc.

This is probably the most significant of all the Norse myths. It’s not about victory or fame or glory, it’s about the constant push to attempt what is deemed impossible, to not fear failure.

In Icelandic, these are the rough translations for the names
Logi = flame
Hugi = mind
Elli = old age

Never knew Loki had another super ability
Marvel should use that in contest with Thanos
Who ever eats more and fast gets infinity stones

I underestimate the story until the twist. It's so beautiful. Thank you, Ted Ed.
