Replacing F250 Front Axle U-Joints and Seals

Decided it was time to do the front U-Joints in the ol cattle chaser. It's a little more involved than just popping a driveshaft out, or in this case an axle, there's some special silliness that you have to do. Follow along for all the fun!

Guys, I get it. The radio is distracting. If I had a nickel for every time someone commented on it, id have, like 45 cents. Lets be honest, my videos aren't "viral". I do my best to provide y'all with quality content-- this one was an oops. You can still hear me though!

Great video, convinced me to take my truck to the shop. Labor intensive and I do not have all those tools, big vises, pry bars, snap ring pliers, etc. But I loved the video and it helps me to talk to the repair people.

Great video. I've been a mechanic for over 30yrs in the military, dealerships and mostly on my own vehicles. I've found that I can buy the tools, quality parts and do the work myself far less expensive than paying someone else to do it. Plus No One does the work as good as I do on my own vehicles because they either don't care, don't know any better or just hope the customer won't know/see where they cut corners, such as the simple things like cleaning up the dirty/rusted areas. I've rebuilt several front end suspensions, engine work, etc. using OTC or as good of tools and saved thousands of dollars. I appreciate you being another "good Ole boy" that is also intelligent and articulate so that the video is a good one. USAF retired also. Thanks again!!

Today, I used this excellent tutorial to swap out my u joints, hubs, seals and locking hubs on both sides, 2005 F-250 Superduty 6.0. The best advice was to get that 36" tuning tool from Harbor Freight Tools. Everything went perfectly. Thanks for taking the time to post these videos.

Great video, i came to see how to use the tool lol, but I really laughed when you said you couldn’t remember what they call the clip, then said you remove it with your snap ring pliers.

Appreciate the video. Gives me the insight i needed before cracking into it. Didnt even know about the tool needed. Very helpful and to all those who complained... Well if you cant tune out the radio then you cant tune out a woman either...

All these pansies complaining about the radio. I enjoy the radio in the background. Also, you had me cracking up at the tuning tool several times. Thanks so much for this video. You've helped me more than you know!

Thanks for the video, it really helped me to understand, what I have to do. I have a 2000 F250 super duty. I guess there will be some differences, but I will work that out and great point about replacing the seals. Thx again. Great job.

I have a 2008. I did the driver side only as the other side was still very good. I did not have to touch the sway bar. And the abs sensor you can unplug from the other end if you are scared of braking it. Thanks for the video helped me a bunch!!!

This guy and his radio…. Am I right? I mean are we all gonna sit here and not talk about the audacity of this freakin man?? I mean hell I got my bearings done and all but it was hardly worth the mental gymnastics the radio put me thru……(insert sarcasm now) 😂😂 great video!

Great video. Helped me see if the play in my axle with the hub assembly off was normal. Right @22:26

When I popped my axel off I wedged a socket behind the pry bar to get extra leverage it helped make it even easier.

Great video. You showed me just what I needed to work on my 2013. Thanks for the tip on the tool, I would have just tried to make due with something else and likely wrecked something. P.S, I found your music selection very soothing. Good luck!

You can actually take the whole brake assembly off as on piece and save the step of removing the caliber and brake pads.

Nice job. I always put my lug nuts on the running boards too lol.

Tip... knock that vacuum seal out from behind before you remove the axle. I use an air chisel with a pointed tip to gently persuade it. Makes the axle come out so much easier. Like the videos and yes...lose the fn radio.
