2011- 2016 Ford f 250 front axle u joint replacement and the 6697 tool needed

replacing the axle u-joint on a 2015 ford f-250 4wd and replacing the vacuum seal with the 6697 seal tool.

This job is so much different living in icy, salted, rusted, northern tundra. I have a shop, have done this many times, and this last one took hours of heat, leverage, ascending sledge hammer weight, new curse words, and blind rage just to get the hub assembly separated. I'm from texas, didn't even know 6 year old vehicles could decompose like this.

ED, i'm leaving the vaccum seal on since i have manual hubs, and oiling axle shaft so i wont riun new seal when sliding thru.

If you don't mind me asking, what u-joints did you use for the front wheel axles? Were they Ford, or were they aftermarket, and if aftermarket do you remember which one?

Do you have a part # for the u joint? The one i bought saying it fit is to small

There was a clip inside the wheel hub in order to get it off?

I can't get my axle to go back in that easy. Gets almost all the way and stops. Any tips?
