There are 2 types of people in this world, those who say that die hard is a Christmas movie. And those who are just wrong

Diehard is a Christmas movie. Just because the genre doesn't specifically focus on the holiday doesn't mean it isn't a Christmas movie. The holiday in the first 2 films do play a role in the plot similar to how Christmas played a role in the "Home Alone" films. The same can be argued for "4 Brothers" the plot of the movie isn't based on Christmas but the holiday plays a minor role in the relationship between the Brothers despite the focus of the film is finding our who killed their foster mother and to get revenge.

Die Hard is not Christmas movie it was specifically made to be a action movie and is based on a very dark book the setting itself is irrelevant because if it truly was a christmas movie it would had been a continuing theme in the entire movie series the second and third movie didn't have any christmas references the main character entire being was "something is going on we gotta figure out the game plan we can't have any more casualties we got to somehow out think them because this isn't a typical case scenario and if I make one mistake i will die and so would everyone else" sure he came for his family but that didn't help solve the problems he had within his marriage before the incident it only became delayed due to the traumatic shock from said event

Alan also found it a Christmas movie so that's kinda 3 (director, writer, amazing antagonist) against 1 Bruce Willis who has lost some credibility in his opinions over time if you ask me.
However, I get that it's not the type of Christmas movie people are into but that's a different story. It feels like people see a Christmas film as just one size fits all instead of an umbrella term for diverse types of films that give a Christmas spirit in different types of ways. Then you indeed get conflict about if something is a Christmas film or not.

Here's a Christmas Movie I want to see: a remake of the Dickens', A Christmas Carol, starring Bruce Willis and Kevin Smith.

“The whole plot is about terrorism”

Hans Gruber laughs “hahaha… who said we were terrorists” I mean come on has he actually seen the movie at all? In fact, now I think about it Gruber is like Harry and Marv from Home Alone except he’s trying to steal Nakatomi’s money not Kevin’s household valuables. I hate how they always get the most low intellect pedestrian idiots to argue in these videos. Just look at the themes, the importance of family unity at Christmas time, the forces of good overcoming evil and everything resolving and being all right for the protagonist and his family in the end, the presence of Gruber as the anti Christmas grinch whom our hero must defeat to save his wife and other total strangers like a modern chivalric squire. It is a Christmas movie with the spirit of Christmas running through it. Henry VIII once passed a bill entitled “An act abolishing diversity in opinions” in 1539, we need a new act abolishing false opinions in relation to Die Hard and it’s status as a Christmas movie.
