I shoot events, weddings and commercial videography and i'm regrettably selling my 35 gm and 24-70 gm ii for this lens as it makes so much sense for my work. Paired with the 16-35mm gm ii to cover the wide end of course.

Absolutely love your reviews! I'm in a bit of a conundrum, though. I'm interested in automotive photography, but I'm unaware of any channels that review products specifically for that purpose, usually reviews focus on landscape street photography or portraits. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for car photography, or if you might consider including a few more vehicle images in your future reviews? As always, love your stuff!

You’re the first to mention the possibility of this lens being parfocal—if it had this feature, it would be perfect! Love your content, keep it up!

One more question. Is Sony’s autofocus system good enough to make a lens function more like a parfocal lens?

You can get this and the A1ii for the price of a good used Toyota. At the end of the day these things only produce photographs and you can get indistinguishable photos from a set up 10% of the cost. If you need to compete with NFL photographers then the value might be there. For the rest, its a complete waste of money.

I thoroughly tested this lens and while it is great for portraits, I see a lot of CA (green/red) when shooting landscapes or far objects especially on the wider end. 85mm f/1.8 is sharper for resolving far away details but has tons of LOCA and overall cheap feel of the image.
