As someone who’s owned an A1 for three years, there really isn’t anything that has me eying the mark 2, which in all honesty shows just how much the a1 packs. The only things I find lacking is on the firmware side of things, namely the alpha team’s refusal to implement some of the cinema amenities found on the fx3. I know they don’t want tot eat into the cinema market, but when the a1 is double price of the fx3 it’s a bit hard to see the justification. (Though It’s probably more to do with the, trying to protect the BURANO.)

I’m excited about the 28-70mm f2, I didn’t know if Sony would ever be able to match canon on that front and I’m really glad they were able to! Between that and the 85 gm sony now has come out with both ‘grail lenses’ that I’ve been asking for.

3k on that lens is insane. its 3600 euros in my country, which would get me 2 way faster, way sharper GM lenses. I hope that price drops someday

If the presentation earlier is true, there is now an "auto" mode subject detect AF. Curious how well that would now actually perform without manually selecting subject AF. Any "shortcomings" of the camera is partly intentional with how their line-up stacks up. The new lens is the bigger news for me!

alpha 1 was terrible because of the overheating, i sold mine after 6 months and bought the fx3. best videocamera ever
