Great review! Another you tube review of the BYD Sea Lion offered in Australia highlights a premium variant with AWD that accelerates from 0-100 kph in just over 5 seconds. If that model enters our market and the price point is below P2M, it would definitely give the Toyota RAV4 HEV and Mazda CX-60 a run for their money.

the only drawback:
Emissions: Internal combustion engines produce emissions
Complexity: Integrating an internal combustion engine in an electric vehicle adds complexity and maintenance.
Reduced Efficiency: there’s an additional energy conversion step, & lower overall efficiency compared to a full electric vehicle.
Dependence on Fossil Fuels: relies on traditional fuels, limiting the progress towards cleaner energy sources.

The 1000km range is deceiving. it has a 60L fuel tank, it should reach more than 1k kms in range. In comparison, I've driven my Nissan kicks back and fort to north (800km) using 36L of fuel.

BYD has to do better with this phev its just not compelling enough. I'm getting more savings using my navara with 1200km range full tank.
