Goodbye, range anxiety! Hello, BYD Sealion 6 DM-i!

ACMobility, the official distributor of BYD cars in the Philippines, formally introduced to the public its latest electrified vehicle to the public, the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i compact SUV, at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City last July 25.

The BYD Sealion 6 DM-I is powered by the Super DM-i Technology, that enables the electric compact SUV to have an extended range of over 1,000 km. In fact, before the launch, a team of drivers and navigators headed by Georges Ramirez and supervised by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) ran the northern Luzon loop with the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, which resulted in an astounding run of 1,608 kms in one battery charging.

Now available in all BYD showrooms nationwide, the new BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, with its modern styling and best-in-class features, is priced at P1,548,000.

The Sealion 6 DM-i is powered by a permanent synchronous magnet motor paired with an 18.3 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate Ultra-Safe BYD Blade Battery that sends power to the front wheels via an E-CVT. With its powerful battery, the electric SUV produces 197 PS and 325 Nm from its motor and can travel approximately 105 kilometers in full EV mode without any emissions. Together with its range extender, full power output jumps to 217 PS while retaining the same torque figures.

Its electric powertrain accelerates the SUV from 0 to 100 kph in 8.3 seconds. In Extended-Range mode, the Sealion 6 DM-i’s total driving distance increases to over 1,000 kms, maximizing the EV’s capabilities.

For customers’ peace of mind, the electric SUV has a 6-year or 150,000-km vehicle warranty, an 8-year or 150,000-km electric motor warranty, and an 8-year or 160,000-km warranty for its Blade Battery.

its just a question of reliability, durability and safety ( batteries dont explode or burn ), ...if this criteria were met there is no reason why byd will not sell worlwide, ...

This type of EV is more suitable for country that do not have a good infrastruture of charging station throughout the country. I still prefer this type of model for the market.
