As someone who owns both a Porsche and a Tesla there are reasons to own both. If you’re just driving for a commute then there’s no better car than a Tesla. If you’re driving to enjoy the act of driving, then it’s Porsche. There is no substitute.

I’ve owned 20 internal combustion engine vehicles, most of them on the high performance side, 3 911s, 4 bmw M cars, AMG GTR, Audi RS, and so on. Since then, My #21, #22, #23, are all Tesla (MYP, S LR, X plaid) while #24 Cybertruck is awaiting, plus #25 Rivian R2 of which who knows when it can really show up. Will I ever buy another ICE vehicle, definitely, however, It’ll have to be some extremely special and playful. For now, I am 100% satisfied with my fleet of Tesla.

After daily'ing my Tesla, any automatic transmission ICE car feels antiquated. I really think you need a manual transmission 911 to set them apart and to give a unique special experience of their own.

I've owned several generations of 911. '78 911 SC with mild performance mods was my favorite, 997.1 Turbo Manual was the most powerful. Between those extremes was a 993, 996, 997.2 4S, 997.2 S and a 991.1 S. I have not driven the 992. Somewhere along the line the speeding tickets and speeding cameras (this was in the UAE) got onerous and now that I am back in the US its a Tesla M3 LR that is in the garage. And it is as fast as the 997 Turbo I used to own! The only Porsche I truly miss is the '78 911 SC.

Nobody is cross-shopping these two cars and there's a reason for that. Nothing wrong with the Telsa, it's just not on the same planet in so many ways beyond 0-60. I'd argue that, due to the prevalence of so many 2.x second EVs on the market, it's just not that interesting any more from an enthusiast's perspective. And that's who buys the Porsche. My avatar proves I am unbiased in this assessment.

I have two Teslas, but I watch Porsche 911 videos every day. If you look closely at a Tesla you can see the Porsche influence!

Tesla depreciation is because of the $7500 tax credit. The original buyer does not take a depreciation hit because of this.

I had a 2015 911s and now have a Tesla plaid S. While the porsche is a more refined car and will handle a track or a curvy road better the Tesla is considerably more powerful and you can actually cary something in it. Besides, unless you’re a track person, how often do you do anything in America that allows you to drive curves aggressively. Our roads are clogged and the Tesla is perfect for the US. As far as daily driver goes, the Tesla beats it hands down.

Most people buying a 911 will NOT consider a Tesla model 3. They are 2 different cars for different reasons. Plus just because you have the $ for a 911 does NOT mean the dealer will allocate you one.

I have a 991.1S cab and daily drove for more than 75k miles; also have ‘24 3P.
My personal opinion is the Tesla wins in almost all categories hands down.
You get over the sound quickly and the lack of power, tech, ride comfort and cargo capacity becomes glaringly apparent.
If the 3P had a convertible in the lineup it would check all the boxes!
Probably selling the 991 shortly as I consistently seem to gravitate towards the 3P.

I have both. I do enjoy the way the regen brakes parachute me down in speed. I'd rather feel the ride not listen to it

We recently bought a dual motor model 3 for my wife, I have to say it’s really very good and makes my 997C2S feel so much less special which surprises me. On a winding country A road here in the UK, the Tesla is huge fun… again surprising

The new model 3 performance is so good. The fit and finish have been greatly improved over the first gen. I have the first gen and want one of these. Definitely the best daily driver available.

A big reason for Tesla depreciation, is continuous reduction in new vehicle pricing. Nobody but Tesla lowers prices. So, thinking this way ...their brand new cars are "depreciating". And will continue as efficiencies of scale and engineering grow.
