Oh man, I needed this. Had a four year relationship with my first love. Then, a year with next. Got to a point where I was mentally exhausted, no matter how 'better' my second one was. And I am just 23!
This is it. I am gonna learn to be alone, cherish my friends/family and move in the direction of my goals/passions.

I remember the first time I got into a relationship (age 25). Most of the scenarios u mentioned started occurring (unable to do whatever I wanted, etc). I realized, also, that a lot of the 'girly' things she did were annoying to me (not that she had bad intentions with them). I shouldn't have wasted my time (& hers) by pursuing A relationship. I had 4 other relationships after her and now that I'm single again at 42, I'm staying that way bcuz I like the freedom.

Being a single woman is even more awesome. No more being bossed around and told what you can and can't wear, no being his domestic slave and no risk of violence.
63 and still single, never been in a relationship and never will. I value my freedom, privacy and safety too much.
