I just want to imagine Lucy Gray ran far away from the districts. She never wanted to be there and for all I know district 13 was over going radiation problems. Because it was destroyed a few months or years back before the 10th hunger games. I think Lucy Gray just flew away like a bird. Leaving behind he trace on the districts without knowing she did. And President Snow just ruined himself because he both hated and loved Lucy Gray throughout the years.

I think Lucys Story is over. She doesn't need an end, she already has the one, her whole point was to be free. I like to think that she is just free from all of it, she could be dead or alive or I don't know what. She is free and we don't need to know who she could be.

i like to think that she escaped from him, and keep moving north. She found a cabin and created a wonderful life for herself. She had some cats, and sang everyday. She went to the capitol once, to see him. He never knew. She lived long enough to see katniss and peeta win together. She died shortly after that, surrounded by trees and rivers, believing that katniss's nightmare was over. she found peace

I think the point is that Lucy Gray doesn't have any relatives in the original trilogy. There's a reason why her fate in TBoSaS is left unknown. She's supposed to remain as a ghost to haunt Snow, it doesn't matter what happened to her after she disappears into the woods, she's now haunting Snow forever, and that's why Katniss gets to him so much. Katniss reminds him not only of Lucy Gray but also of Sejanus.

I saw someone comment a theory about how Snow (in the trilogy) knew he lost before he actually did because Lucy Gray told him “you know the show’s over when the mockingjay sings” and Katniss was the mockingjay and well, she sung the hanging tree (WRITTEN BY LUCY GRAY) lol it was an interesting theory!

It’s explained in the original trilogy that the reason the mockingjay was used as a symbol of freedom was because they were a species the capitol tried to wipe out but couldn’t, so they were an example of something rebelling against the capitols wishes and living by their own accord.

I believe the Lucy gray flew away and they don’t “you can’t catch me now” which played during the credits basically was saying that Lucy was long gone, and no matter what anyone did, they couldn’t catch her now. She has fled.

I said this theory many times before. Maude ivory could be related to Katniss, meaning that Maude ivory is Mr.Everdeen's mother. This is because he knows the woods, he can sing, he knows the hanging tree and Deep in the meadow song which was made by Lucy Gray, the Katniss name was known amongst the Covey of a swamp potato and the lake. Without Maude ivory, Primrose wouldn't exsist because her blonde hair is a reccesive gene and recessive genes are usually passed down to the grand children.

(Making sure, because people got confused on the hair theory.
Blonde hair is harder to get if someone in your heritage had dark hair. Dominant genes are usually passed down and I know Primrose got blonde hair from her mother but if you understand genetics, primrose has a "Higher chance" of getting get blonde hair. )


I could go on with theories for so long but the Coin being related to Lucy Gray is not true in my belief, coin would've looked half Covey at least, but she didn't.

The mockingjay symbol was known to all the districts to be honest, the Covey weren't the only ones who found the mockingjay important but district 11 too, remember in the first movie/book Rue explained she used the mockingjays to let people know when working in the orchards were ending.

They mentioned in the books that there was another winner from district 12 (Lucy Gray)other then Haymitch but they had already passed away.

Coin murdered children to make the capital look even worse, I don’t think Collins would write Lucy the way she was (a good person who would not murder children to put it simply) just to tie her character with a dictator later on. Lucy Gray was written to feel too personable for a future dictator. I’m sure there are many more things in the books supporting as to why Lucy Gray could not be Coin but I haven’t reread the books in a while.

There’s many hints in the book that shes actually katniss’s grandma. In the book, when snow is a peacekeeper at 12, they go to this meadow (briefly shown in the movie) and Lucy tells him she and the covey are the only ones who know about it. In the original books, Katniss visits the meadow often and said that her dad used to take her there (I THINK she says his mom took him there but I’m not sure, haven’t read it in awhile). Lucy Gray also wrote The Hanging Tree and Katniss told Pollux in MockingJay that that was a family song of theirs. And Lucy Gray also told Snow that she always preferred the name Katniss instead of swamp potatoes. So if she had a son and not a daughter, then her son would name his daughter Katniss in her honor. This would also add a deeper meaning to Katniss being called the Mockingjay because it was like Snow’s past coming back to haunt him

I just like to think that Lucy ran to Canada (District 12 is in the Virginia and West Virginia area) and started a new life with singing and dancing away from all of the chaos of Panem.

President Coin is about two generations removed from Lucy Gray and Snow.

It’s possible Lucy Gray is Coin’s mother but they are most definitely not the same person

It’s said Lucy gray wanted to go north in the books and she dissapeared without a trace my guess is she went far away from the districts and the capital all together we know she can survive for a long time cuz she did in the arena I don’t think she went to 13 cuz she said in the books she’s not district nor capital

I would like to think that there will be a next movie that shows how Snow managed to become president and also what happened to Lucy Gray, in addition to what happened to Tigris and why she now has the face of a tiger.

Coin is in her 50s. Snow is in his 80s and LG is 2 years younger than him. She's not Katniss's grandmother either.
