Experience the story of THE HUNGER GAMES — 64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute, and decades before Coriolanus Snow became the tyrannical President of Panem.

THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS & SNAKES follows a young Coriolanus (Tom Blyth) who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from the impoverished District 12. But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates. With everything he has worked for hanging in the balance, Snow unites with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow sets out on a race against time to survive and reveal if he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake.

Lionsgate presents, a Color Force / Lionsgate / about:blank production.

Suzanne Collins really dropped a series that shaped a whole generation, disappeared, and appears again with another hit. This woman is like the equivalent of Adele.

This book was ACTUALLY a decent prequel and a decent villian backstory. Truly proves protagonist doesn’t mean good guy, just main character. Excited to see this on the big screen.

I find that its pure genius that Suzanne Collins had the idea to tie Snow to the mockingjay before Katniss was even born like imagine Snow having to listen to katniss singing the hanging tree after all this years when Lucy Gray sang it about him

The way Suzanne wrote the book was sublime— I was rooting for Snow at points and it was so HARD because we know what he became! He was awful! But in a way where I still wanted him to be able to redeem himself…

"You either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." Villain origin stories are always so compelling.

That last scene with the “it’s the thing we love most that destroy us” line in the background gave me CHILLS. It looks fantastic so far.

''It's the things we love most that destroy us'' that line always give me goosebumps

edit : I'm muting this as I see some people being mean under the comments section so to make it clear all of the hateful comments are being reported. I don't tolerate any nasty comments or hatefulness.

Anyway I'm excited to watch the movie and yes Donald Sutherland's voice at the end always give me goosebumps.

This move was really good from the beginning to the end! Loved how they showed us the origin of the villain’s belief that all the world is a Hunger Game.

I just finished the book a couple days ago, and I think it’s remarkable how every single frame of this trailer can be matched almost exactly to a moment from the book. Every image and almost every word of dialogue I could find in the book.

you can tell that tom blythe studied donald sutherland's portrayal of snow so well to fit the mannerisms, gestures and mimics. great job already from the trailers alone.

Now that I've read the book... That final moment, that glance before she goes out in the rain and Donald Sutherland's voice over - it hits so strong, so differently, , so many chills... I'm so looking forward to seeing this!

I'm a fan of the Hunger Games series, since the very first book. Having the opportunity to learn more about Snow in this prequel it's priceless.

I finished this book a few months ago and I needed TIME afterwards to recover. Such a heartbreaking and delicious story. The first trailer gave my goosebumps of excitement but this trailer tortured my soul. Squeezing in that final scene in the cabin... I'm aching. If you know, you know.

Just watched the movie and wow. It’s amazing and really shows every aspect of all the characters showing how mad all of them went kind of reflecting our world today. You can really see how Katniss was Snows karma 70 years later. Her name, her song, her symbol, and her situation with Peeta. Katniss is basically Lucy coming back to haunt Snow. That’s why snow said at the end of a movie “I hated you from the moment your name was drawn” Katniss was one of Lucy’s songbirds in a way

I love a good villain origin story! The best villains are always the ones who started out as good guys.

I loved how the movie was time based and really shows how the capital was before Katniss’ time. Construction all over the city, drones not perfected and crashing, absolutely phenomenal prequel. Loved everything about it even the adverse ending of the love story between Lucy and Coriolanus

I stopped watching movie trailers before watching the actual movie, and I have never regretted it since. It's a formula for the best movie watching experience you will ever find.
