1 at a time for me, or I flatten the box and draw myself a diagram. Or, take a picture with my phone. Otherwise, I need experts like you. Thanks for posting.

Looks like I have a bad solenoid. No resistor or diode on my Yamaha 36V is it supposed to be that way or did this lead to the solenoid failure. Bought cart used and have had for 5 years.

Yeah my Solenoid on my 2001 starts sizzling and pumping smoke when I hook up the main positive. I'm just gonna assume it's time for a new one

This is tremendously more helpful than Yamaha’s wiring diagram. Question though, you addressed the two cables that share a terminal on the solenoid. One goes to controller, but does the other one go to the S terminal on the shift assembly?

Hi again. Is there anyway to find a correct wiring diagram of battery hook ups on a 1997 G16 E? We need from the control box to the batteries and to the solenoid. This is our 1st electric cart. When we put volt meter on the 2 small posts of the solenoid and stepped on the gas, the meter shows OL. It also only shows 17.4 volts but each battery is showing at least 6 volts. Around 6.2 volts. Any advice would be great!

Why do you need a diode crossing those 2 smaller terminals?

Do you have a yamaha G9E solenoid video? This old girl had some wires hooked up in a way that I don't trust and some are already removed. I can send you a picture if you don't mind looking at it.

Hi I am retired lady that has a 1998 G16E- I am looking for a cable that goes from the solenoid and connects to the forward/reverse switch. I have had this cart 15 years and there is no one in my area that works on them. This wire over heats at the connection to the f/r switch. I have the part number and no one can find it. It may be a oem only. Can you tell me what the gauge of this cable is. I remember now that the last time I replaced it several years ago that I could go to a battery store and set one there. All the connections are tight. When it gets hot I get no power. I have to sit for a few minutes and it goes again. I appreciate any help as right now I can not take the cable to anywhere to to buy it. I am a high risk to the virus so am home. I can order one on line if it really is just a battery cable. On the yamaha blow out sheet it is item 32 Wire & JR1-H6527-00-00. I replaced the selinoid a few years ago when I replaced the burned cable. Now I have burned another cable. The f/w switch was replaced maybe 8 years ago. Thanks- Carla
