2017 Yamaha Drive2, 48 volt. Intermittent power issue. Turn the key on, hear the solenoid click and it runs. If the solenoid does not click, it does not run. Battery gauge and back up buzzer work all the time. If we leave the key on 24/7, the cart always runs. It's only an intermittent problem if we turn the key off. When it does not run, we let it sit for an hour or so and it runs. Flipping from run to tow and back does not change anything. Batteries have been tested good. It's been to two Yamaha dealers and the following parts have been replaced. Solenoid, Start/Stop switch on brake pedal, Throttle sensor, Ignition switch, Tow/Run switch and the main wiring harness. One dealer wants to change the brushes in the DC motor, but this is a lack of power to the solenoid not a motor problem. Also did a bypass of the Reed switch, but that didn't help either. When the power is turned on, does power go through the controller, then to the solenoid? If so, does this indicate the problem in the controller? This happens in all weather conditions in mid Florida. This is a former golf course cart. No blinkers or brake lights. The dealers say they can't identify the problem until it happens on their lot. So far, it has not happened on their lot.

Update on 2017 Yamaha Drive2, 48 volt, Intermittent power issue. We had a new Yamaha controller installed at a Yamaha dealer. It did not cure the intermittent power issue. This is a nice cart that we don't want to give up. I'm open to suggestions. Please see previous post with a list of parts we have replaced, before adding suggestions. If this is a ground issue, I need someone close to Winter Haven, FL that can fix it. This is not something I am capable of doing on my own.

So I have a G22. I have new batteries and a new solenoid. My switch is good under my pedal. You say the solenoid should click. Mine doesn’t. Does that mean the controller could be bad?

So if im getting no click on the solendoid, is it the controller?
